No reason to wait, besides I'll be really busy tomorrow with work.
Hideous offensive effort for pretty much the 2nd straight week. For all of you who said the magic powder was Garrett not calling plays and Romo running the no huddle more- well hope you are happy. Callahan sux and Romo looks hopeless figuring out what defenses are doing.
I don't know why I bother to get excited every offseason. I guess I'm a sucker for this team no matter what. Oh well.
1) I think Garrett should immediately yank playcalling from Bill Callahan and take away a lot of this new freedom Romo has at the LOS. He stinks at reading defenses, its why he makes so many mistakes to begin with. It looks like a hodge podge, helter skelter set up almost every play. There's no rhyme or reason to what they are trying to do and most of the pass patterns are 5 yds or less from the LOS. Romo audibled into a ton of bad plays today, including one that easily cost us a TD when he locked onto that ridiculous behind the LOS pass to the rookie WR instead of looking at what KC had on Dez Bryant (single off coverage) which probably would have had a much better chance of scoring than that garbage Romo ran. Romo threw probably 2 or 3 good passes the entire second half.
2) Defense had a couple of bad drives, but a lot of good ones otherwise in spite of the offense sucking the big one. No turnovers forced though, and that's why we couldn't win and overcome shitty offensive effort.
3) Special teams seems to be getting better, and Dan Bailey is automatic from just about anywhere.
4) Dez Bryant was awesome except for one play, dropping probably the easiest catch he has had in the first two games. Willing to give him a pass, because he makes so many plays even when guys are draped all over him. He takes bad passes from Romo and routinely turns them into positive plays. Also thought the offensive PI call on him was a joke.
5) They might have to shut Claiborne down for a few weeks to let his shoulder heal more. He has no tackling ability right now with one arm and got trucked badly on one play. Still not sure that was PI on him on that 3rd down play at the end of the game, but they nailed Eric Berry with a hold that negated a terrible Romo pick that was pretty borderline too.
6) I guess one positive that's obvious after the first two games in nobody in the NFC East appears to be really good (or even "good") meaning 9-7 or 10-6 will likely be more than enough to win the division.
Hope it gets better. But after seeing two games of this garbage offense that's netted a total of 3 tds and 6 field goals, I'm reasonably sure we arnt going anywhere again this year. I just hope that shit for brains Jones has enough sense to do the right thing after this season if we do end 8-8 or whatever again.
