They lost to the Ravens, but he put them in position to complete the comeback. Are you going to hold it against Romo that Bailey missed the kick? They lost to the Ravens IIRC. How many of these games has he won that would have gave Dallas the division title? How many prime time games has he came back in? You know good and damn well the games that he has had a melt down. The Jets game was a big prime time game from a couple years ago. The Lions game was a nationally televised game. That is just a couple. There are plenty more. He wouldn't have the reputation that he does without a reason.
we'd be a 2-14 team without him
I think his mental process is always the same in the clutch. He feels like he holds the outcome of the game in his hands.... and he does. He can't depend on the defense to get the stops in the clutch.Romo is a great QB. But he has mental blocks late in games.
He's un-clutch.
But yeah, we'd be a 2-14 team without him.
If he was ever paired with the complete teams that Eli, Roethlisberger, Flacco, and probably a few other guys have ahd the luxury of playing with recently, I have no doubt Tony Romo would have a Super Bowl ring or three.
Problem is, he plays in Dallas where he's forced to hoist the entire team on his shoulders and do everything.
He does an incredible job at that 90% of the time.
But when the pressure is greatest - when it comes down to the wire, he cluster fucks it up.
I genuinely think its mental at this point.
but that doesn't mean he's good enough to win a championship

I'm sure when he's in that position he feels like he has to do more. Sometimes he makes bad decisions in the clutch, but sometimes his risky plays pay off. It's just part of the package when you have someone who has the ability to win games by himself. Brady did it the other night, throwing a pick in the 4th quarter. But the Saints fucked it up and the D got a stop and he got another chance.
It's the same mentality we talk about when Romo plays "street ball." When we talk about him playing street ball, good things happen. We're basically saying he's throwing out the conservative offense.... and it has a positive connotation. In the 4th quarter, what do you think he's doing? He's definitely not being conservative.
Why is it a good thing to play street ball in quarters 1-3, but not in the 4th? The turnovers still happen the same, but they're more magnified in the 4th... which is why everyone remembers those more than the others.
I don't know why Chad Hutchinson still isn't here. He was good. I saw him at Best Buy once.
Make me not compare Romo to Brady.Don't compare Romo to Brady, holmes.
Make me not compare Romo to Brady.
