2nd round?
brees- basically 1st

I threw that in there for Brees. I didn't realize "basically 1st" was an option.

But yeah, if you look at the top QB's in the league, all of them with the exception of Brady were first rounders. When people wonder why we've had so much trouble replacing Aikman, well, we've only drafted 2 QB's in the last 20 years. And the last time we drafted one in the first was Aikman in '89.

So maybe when we start looking for a QB our genius GM will start looking at the top of the draft instead of at undrafted FA's and baseball players. Just a suggestion, of course.

You realize running the ball with a RB doesnt eliminate the possibility of a fumble, right?

It reduces it greatly.

Runningbacks are used to getting hit, and they know how to carry the football. They don't just run with wild abandon like Romo was.

You do realize that the Runningback. That guy behind the QB or off to the side from time to time is "just" a little more comfortable with running with a football. Than, say , a QB who throws it. Unless you are an overrated QB, like say, Vick.

There's a reason we won't be in a position for luck this year. Romo will lead them to a winning record. There's no such thing as a stumbling across a qb in round 2. I'd you want to start over you need to dump romo, get high in the draft and take your lumps. The idea that you can casually pick up one better than him is short-sighted .

Moving on from him is easy to say after that game. It's another thing to take that step. Not to mention waiting on the new guy while your 2 best players creep past 30

I can go with the "it's hard to get into position to get a high rated QB in the first round" excuse. But I really don't care to hear the "we can't draft a QB early because it'll mean waiting for him to get ready" excuse. Guess what? We've won one whole wildcard game in the last 15 years. From what I've seen the last 5-6 years of Romo, the odds he gets us to or near a Super Bowl is slim to none. So it looks like our best players are going to be wasted anyways so what do we have to lose?

If we have a chance to get a quality QB in the first round, even if it means a trade up, then I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd rather groom someone now, ala GB with Rodgers than wait til Romo is gone and then have to start from scratch.

I think we might be seeing the the last chapter of Romo if the 49ers run us. BTW, Jerry Jones is an IDIOT.

This post confuses me. At first, you say you'd be fine with starting a rookie QB because Romo will never get us there. Then you say you'd rather groom someone "ala GB with Rodgers" (who sat on the bench for three years).

Which is it?

I don't think he said to start a rookie QB. He is saying don't cry about waiting for a rookie to develop because Witten and Ware will never play in a Super Bowl anyways.

Garretts team has been in every game so far and should have beaten the saints(with kitna) and jets. Two superbowl contenders. So far were 1 game into his tenure with an offseason of his moves and practices. The line is smarter and more mobile than in years past and that was always the downfall. That and bad coaching.

It's week 1 stop Trying to feel bad for yourselves

Well put. The Jets have gone to 2 straight AFC champioship games and beaten Brady and Manning on the road to get there. They are a good team.

The only problems i had with Garrett that game were leaving Dez in the game when he could barely walk, and not running the ball more when we're inside the 5. No reason to pass that much down there.

My issues aren't with Garrett. I'd be his baby momma if I could.

My issues are with Romo at this point. And the Oline. And the secondary.

Lets not forget I was the Joe Fan predicting 12 wins before the season started.

I made that (seemingly now) ridiculous prediction based virtually solely on Jason mother fucking Garrett.

I thought the OL and secondary both played very well actually.

Do you also find Roseanne Barr attractive, and enjoy eating shit sandwhiches?

Or do you reserve your ridiculously low standards and terrible taste to just football?

If you watch that Romo fumble again and follow Doug Free you will see that he never lays a hand on a player until he whiffs on a block and falls out of the frame.

The OL was starting 4 new guys at their positions and we held up well against a great pass rush. In turn, the secondary was playing with 3rd stringers and safeties at CB and held the Jets offense to 17 points. Don't know what you were watching, but both units played well considering. Run along now and watch the game again, then get back to me bud.
