So, you long for the Campo days

I still had the degen tingles from our 3 SB wins and was still trying to delude myself into seeing some way around the buffoon of an owner but deep down, I knew the franchise was dead for the rest of my lifetime on March 29, 1994.

I felt my heart sink to me toes watching that press conference because any idiot so insecure and egotistical to fire his back to back Super Bowl winning head coach could never be trusted again. It was obvious he'd always put himself above doing what it takes to get there again. We're just lucky the dregs of what was left of Jimmys team and Kevin Williams great catch allowed them to snare the third Super Bowl win or we'd still be sitting on 4.

Its probably for the best as I would have wasted a ton of time and probably dropped several hundred thousand on the team for seats, tickets, etc (We had 50 yard line seats twenty rows up at Texas Stadium but punted when they did the ridiculously priced PSLs which had we kept them would have probably cost us close to half a million if I still owned the today)

It seems pretty obvious that Irvin thinks Deion is the next HC. Sounds like Keyshawn thinks it's happening too.

The strategically-timed leak that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has spoken to Colorado coach Deion Sanders might have been intended to move the needle. It has also moved the market.

DraftKings has Deion as the betting favorite to become the next head coach of the Cowboys.

Sanders has odds of +100. Next on the list is former Jets coach Robert Saleh at +150, followed by Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore at +250.

Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson’s odds are +450, followed by Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury at +550 and Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady at +650.

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn lands at +850, with Texas coach Steve Sarkisian at +950.

Bucs offensive coordinator Liam Coen is +1000, as is former Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores and North Carolina coach Bill Belichick are at +1200.

The lengthy list of options include Jon Gruden (+1400), Lincoln Riley (+1800), Pete Carroll (+2000), Al Harris (+2000), David Shaw (+5000), Byron Leftwich (+6000), Mike Tomlin (+8000), Kyle Shanahan (+8000), Dan Quinn (+8000), Troy Aikman (+9000), and various +10000 long shots: Tony Dungy, Tom Coughlin, Romeo Crennel, Jeff Fisher, Jay Gruden, Bill Parcells, Brian Billick, Bruce Arians, Tony Romo, Jimmy Johnson, Emmitt Smith, Bill Cowher, and Michael Irvin.

As usual, the odds reflect the betting trends. The fact that Deion is the favorite means people are putting money on the possibility that he’ll get the job.

And maybe he will. For now, however, it still feels like a publicity stunt.

One that is working, well.

I don't think anyone has asked them yet (nor have they commented that I know of) but will be curious to see what people like Aikman and Staubach think of a potential Deion as HC thing.

I know Aikman was originally not happy when they signed Deion in 1995 because he thought Deion was a circus sideshow. I think over time his opinion of Deion shifted some when he saw every day how serious Deion took practice and worked on his craft at CB. Last year I do remember someone asking Aikman about Sanders ever coaching in the pros and Aikman said he didnt think it would ever happen because Deion couldn't tolerate todays attitudes from NFL players.

Still not sure I believe Deion is coming here and I definitely don't have a lot of confidence that if they do hire him, that he will win big here. I also don't want his kid as the next QB, if we hire Deion there's a real possibility that they sacrifice a lot of draft capital to try and move up and get his kid.

Mosher believes Kellen Moore is the guy, which certainly could explain Saleh and Frazier interviews as potential DC's.

Also read Moore has mentioned Matt Eberflus in discussions with other teams as potential DC. Obviously the Jones' know him well.
