1. Trades for Williams and Galloway.....three 1s and a 3

2. Drafting Quincy Carter and insisting he was a franchise qb.

3. Not accepting the first round pick offered for marty b early in the season in 09. Many still don't believe this happened but is confirming it again. Said they could have used the pick on gronkowski in the 10 draft.

Also added tonight that the team did talk to and offer Tony sporano a job but he viewed it as too much of a step back.

I like Babe alot, but shit that happened in 2000 and 2001 doesnt have any real bearing on where we are today, 11-12 years later.

Disagree.

For example... one of the picks sent to Seattle for Galloway was used to draft that guard, Steve Hutchinson.

You don't think he would've had an impact on the line the past 11 years?

Instead of taking Carter, we could've either tried to find a real QB, or at the least, not invest years into him and Hutchinson. etc.

What we did a decade a go definitely plays a large roll in how the team is shaped today.

And I agree that I don't think anyone offered a 1 for Bennett.

Agree with all this. As to Galloway, even more than the picks was resting on our laurels trying to find talent at WR. With that much invested in Galloway I would have to imagine that our scouting concentrated elsewhere.

I am not really interested in debating this number 1 for Bennett.

I believe it happened without question. The day babe talked about it was the day we bet atlanta in 09. I always take pictures during pregame, I have pictures of him during the pregame talking to both garett's, Stephen jones, rich dalrymple, ciskowski and other assorted coaches as he always does during pregame.

Steve Dennis back then also said he was told by people in the organization that cincy was the team that offered the 1.

If you guys choose to not believe it, fine. But if you don't accept information from people with actual information, you must never believe anything because the CBS 11 guys IMO are the only ones who have any actual info and end up being correct.

Cincy had a good team and lost there tight end that year at the end of camp. It was a mistake not to take that pick.

It's the action. Ding it twice is baffling.

I believe giving up 3 1's is alot. The players that would have been used in 00 and 01 would have helped a ton in those 04'05'06 seasons.

Probably not in 2011 but he was talking about big mistakes that have kept this franchise from winning anYthing.

I just can't believe a team would offer a 1 for Bennett. Or that we would've turned that down.

Maybe I just don't want to believe it?

But do you know if the Cowboys would have drafted him anyway? The Cowboys also could have had Shawn Alexander with one of those picks.

At the time when babe said it on the score the night of the Atlanta game, I was pretty shocked. But it made sense, I put the video on the zone and you know who said he wasn't hearing it from his sources. Mosely talked about the video the next day too, he said he wasn't hearing it.

And the reason neither was hearing it was because they do not have actual sources within the team that matter. Mosely had already burned some bridges and hs biggest source was sporano who was now gone. The other guy just doesn't have any. Later on he claimed it was a one from his source, comical.

CBS 11 because of babe are the only little pocket of people who actually talk to coaches, scouts and Stephen.

Joey Galloway would have helped alot too, but he got hurt and then had Aikman retired before they had a chance to play together.

How do you know whomever we would have drafted with those picks would have 1) been any good and 2) stayed healthy 3) played well enough here to earn another contract

I have no problem with people being critical of stuff, but again going back 10-12 years and saying that something that happened then has had a dramatic impact on whats happening today is a reach. We didnt pass on the chance to draft Payton Manning or anything.

I dont believe it either, especially when the Bengals also denied it ever happened.

They confirmed the same thing the local Dallas paper reports said, that they offered the Cowboys a middle round pick and a "starung calibar player", it was speculated that player was WR Chris Henry

Those are obvious mistakes. How influential they are to this current team, i don’t know. Teams have a high turnover and a few of those things were years ago.

Still not convinced and like I noted, even Cinci's people dispute it.

Yeah we could have drafted Gronkowski. :rolleyes

no one said we would have, it was just that we could have.

at the least it would have kept us from trading up to get bryant.

and with our own pick we could have taken kyle wilison, patrick robinson, nate allen or dexter mcluster...players we had interest in.

would be nice to just plug in kyle wilson for newman at ota's this year.
