Didn't we spend 2 of the last 3 #1 picks to address the weakest area of the team?

We drafted a RT who was a stud and moved him to LT where he has been a little above average. Hardly playing like a first round pick

We than drafted a center where 90% of teams had a second or even third round grade on him

Smith was drafted to be a career LT. He played at RT for one yr because thats what he played most of the time in college, and they had a good year previously from Doug Free.

And he's probably looked better than a majority of players drafted later than he was. At least so far.

I also doubt many teams had anything lower than a 2nd rd grade on him. We drafted him at 31, not at 10. Its not some earth shattering reach.

I agree. A couple of rounds is no big deal when you look at the whole picture. Nobody will remember these couple of rounds in ten years.

That's the crux of the season, IMO. We'll beat the Giants and then all week we'll implore them not to overlook the Chiefs. "Do not lay an egg in KC like you did in Seattle last year!" And then they'll go up there to that noise-filled stadium full of corn-fed hicks and promptly lose.
