TE, there is an Indian reservation behind my house. I dare you to say the name Redskin there. I'll pay for your flight even.
Only if you buy me a steak when I get there.

How would you like that, bloody? Get it?? Cuz you're going to get beat down by some fucking injuns. haha
It's their voice that needs to be heard, not journalists and politicians. Sadly, their voice will never be heard because they don't have money or hidden agendas.

Really talking out both sides of your mouth on this one. They aren't heard because they don't have the money, and they are stupid for spending what money they do have in order to be heard.
Yes it does when people claim to care about a cause and are dropping God knows how much money on it, while the people they claim to care about are still living in poverty, still battling meth and alcohol plagues, and overall low quality of life. How is changing the Redskins name going to help these people? I could care less if they change the name lots of franchises have done it, but I find it despicable that people that wouldn't give the change in the cup holder of their BMW to help Native Americans are drawing attention away from the real problem. When the name does change and it will at some point, tell me if fridges full of food suddenly appear out of thin air on poverty stricken reservations across the country? Will college scholarships start dropping out of the sky? Somehow I doubt it.
Imagine how many college scholarships could have been set up with the money it took to buy 60 seconds of commercial air time during the NBA finals. I bet someone gets individually plugged during this commercial too.
Your first two posts in the thread seem to say different
You think the reservation residents are the ones that paid for the commercial? Somehow I doubt they have that kind of cash.
I was planning on pointing out that this tribe who paid for the ad had a reservation, but they also have a casino. I assume it takes care of all the members of the tribe, all 36 of them. So touché.
Shit, wouldn't be the first time. Hell, look no farther than the Democratic Party sitting on the backs of the black man.And there's my problem. For the most part the people campaigning the hardest and with the deepest pockets DO NOT GIVE A FUCK about the plight of the people as a whole.

Neither do you, so drop the "they should be giving blankets to autistic indians" routine. When the argument you're making isn't "nothing is wrong with the Redskins name" and is more "why do you care" you don't have a point. I don't care about their name - but it's not defensible. It's fine to not give a fuck, your thing is stupid. People are allowed to care and spend money on whatever they feel like, whether you believe they actually give a shit or not.
Irrelevant.
