Honestly, it's a solid overall draft. Stuck to big school guys in the 7th. I think our stupidity was just overwhelming even if it was just two incidents. You don't give up a 3rd in a draft like this and that 4th rounder was as bad a pick as I can remember.
Gardner was one of our better picks. He can play LDE and maybe RDT on passing downs.
Bishop is decent, doesn't stand out to me at all.
Dixon was a big hitter at Baylor. Poor man's Kam Chancellor. My issue is that he is Strong Safety only type and we have those.
Mitchell had some huge turnovers for the Ducks but his lack of speed is going to a bigger deal at this level.
Smith was a wasted pick IMO. How does he win a job with Carter, Lee, Durant, Holloman, and the 4th rounder who will get every chance to make this roster. Maybe Smith is a Special Teams standout?
I think in 3 years we will have Martin, Lawrence, Street, and Gardner left over. 2 starters, 2 reserves. Not great results with 9 players drafted, 11 picks used.
