Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny say hi

Hey that's fine.

I know he is not going anywhere nor is ciskowski or chris hall or most of the staff.

I am just saying, IMO there is proof that sometimes it's the swamp and not the mosquito and it there is a precedent for it like I said with what just happened in sf in this exact manner.

After this year it will be too late for ware, witten and romo.

Stay the same and they will go down with this head coach and front office and in about 3 years we will have the same problems without three all pro's.

And good luck to anyone in this organization replacing a hall of fame pass rusher and an outstanding quarterback.

By the way. Jason witten just said Garrett is the best coach he has ever played for and is going to be great here for a long time.

You know how you shake up the establishment? Stop handing over millions to the same trash that keeps embarrassing you

This. Something's gotta give, whether it's firing the coach or firing the scouting department, or hiring a GM. Going into next year with the status quo would be tantamount to wasting Romo, Ware, Witten and Ratliff.

And for whats it worth, the forty niners did just that.

Realized Nolan was not a good head coach, fired him put singletary in charge because he had seemingly the best qualities.

Then they realized when they got the same kind of play under mike singletary that we got with Garrett that they did not have it right.

Singletary was fired and they put harbaugh in charge and he changed everything immediately.

Turned a short offseason into a great one and they are off and running.

So to me it certainly Can be done and has been done.

I like Harbaugh but he's been there one year. Lets see what he does for more than one season before using him as a prime example of how somebody "got it right", because people like you were saying the exact same thing the day they promoted Singletary. They were also saying that same sort of stuff about guys like Sparano and Haley.

Witten's a no nonsense guy and a winner IMO. This is encouraging if he said it.

Jones won't fire Garrett but let's say he did. I think Gruden could come in and win with this offense. The defense needs an overhaul no matter who the Head Coach is.

Eh, I dunno. Bringing in somebody like Gruden would probably set the team back initially because of the dramatic change in offensive styles.

It isnt happening.

Gruden is terrible. He would wreck what we have without question. At least with Garrett we would play at a high level of offense to go with the mistakes and problems.

It's got to be a head coach with a real vision and track record who can handle this organization.

From the cowher, parcells, belichick, holmgren mold.

If Garrett is the guy then he needs to make changes on all levels this year and step up and be the guy.

Front office, staff, players.

Maybe he will, but to me this game was not a good reflection on the head coach.

Agreed it isn't happening. I just think Gruden's personality is big enough to handle both Jerry and the media scrutiny that comes with the Dallas job.

I never said that about singletary or Haley...but I certainly did about sporano.

I did however want us to hire singletary as part of the staff in 07 with the panthers current head coach being the guy in charge.

Probably wrong on all accounts but it's just how I feel. A real drastic change needs to happen before it's too late.

OK, so lets say we make this dramatic change and hire whoever this mystery man might be with the magic wand that will fix everything. then next yr we go 9-7. Do we then turn around and fire that guy too?

I agree about Witten, he's one of my all-time favorite Cowboys and I'd like to be able to take his word.

That said, putting Garrett aside for the moment what about the secondary? Newman's gotta get bounced and we HAVE to quit giving big money to guys who'd be backups on 25 other teams.

A lot of their current players went through their growing pains with those coaches. Harbaugh took over a pretty good defense. That said, what if the Niners flop next year...fire him and find another?

No absolutely not.

Your misunderstanding. Jason garret is not new. Tom ciskowski and this front office are not new. These are the guys who have missed and missed and missed.

Garrett has been here for five years. It's not the same thing. If Garrett were hired in jacksonville last year he would deserve 4 years.

He has been here though for some really low moments, he has been a part of this process over the past five years.

The one thing that does give me hope from jason Garrett is that he does have the one quality I think is vital to win and that is surrounding himself with good coaches.

Rob Ryan was a fallback, not a guy they wanted.

Jg has wanted capers, Greg Williams and foge fazio......all are producing at a high level.

With woicik and Jimmy Robinson here hopefully he really improves the staff this year.

Trade romo and you get let's say the 15th pick and a 1st in 2012 based on playoff wins (insert joke)
Trade Witten and get the 25th pick
Trade ware and get 11 and a 2012 1st

non emotional Yay or nay

Of course not. A true real first year coach deserves his time, 3 to 4 years unless there is some sort of player mutiny like rich kotite situation.

To me Garrett is not a new voice or a shakeup.

The last two shakeups in this organization have resulted in good off seasons and good seasons. 03 and 07.

We'll have at least two new starters in the secondary IMO, and it will almost assuredly be guys who arnt on the roster today. Scandrick is not an everydown starting CB with the way he plays rigth now. Elam shouldnt be resigned. In fact I wouldnt keep him even if he wanted to play for free.

I'd maybe keep Scandrick as a backup. Elam should definatly go, and we've got to cut ties with Newman. Tonight proved that in bright neon colors.

I dont see any way Newman is back, nor Elam.

Scandrick will obviously be back, but he shouldnt be handed Newman's job. If he wins it in TC so be it, but he should have to earn it.

I can agree with that, but he needs valid competition. Either a high draft pick and/or a above average free agent. Removing Newman's price tag should make that possible.

It's more than obvious.

IMO newman, ball, walker and Elam are not returning.

Again IMO, there is no way I consider bringing back Spencer.

That leaves two glaring holes at a skill position, this staff has had problems finding skill players who perform. Since the old regime split the only true skill spot we have filled at a high level is Tyron smith.....but with a top 10 pick.

With brooking and James on there way out we are looking at 8 new players on defense easily.

I am terrified of who is going to make the decision on the new players. It was this group that brought us ball, Spencer, Williams, aoa etc...
