Great show. Great player and person.

BTW, he was a scrambling, improvisational type quarterback. I heard by the experts that they don’t translate to the NFL.

If a guy can throw the ball, and read a defense, then he can live.

Am I the only one who wonders how far he's going to let his hairline recede before he finally does something about it?

Shits almost behind his ears.

he's 72 with a wife, five kids, a million grandkids and $600 million in the bank. he doesn't need hair at this stage of his life.

Key word is in bold. He was definitely a quarterback. Most of what you see today by way of "scramblers" and runners, aren't and will never be, quarterbacks.

Because they cannot master the position. They wanna run up a tree at the first hint of pressure.

Sure he was. But he was also arguably the best passer of his time and could read defenses, make all the throws

What did Zero say?

He could take over games almost singlehandedly. He was a truly great player.

To Cowboys fans who never saw Staubach play:

No analogy is perfect, but if you want to get a feel for who and how Staubach was as a player, think of Michael Jordan. Not the young flashy Michael Jordan, but the more mature Jordan who was winning championships.

Staubach and Jordan both displayed remarkable and very rare levels of focus, determination, and competitiveness. They both showed a unique ability to deliver in the clutch. It was as if they could use their own intensity to will their teams to victories. Teammates had unquestioned faith in the ability of Staubach/Jordan to win games in the closing moments.

Players on opposing teams often knew that they were no match for Staubach/Jordan. You'd often see opposing teams deflate in the closing moments of games, as if they were preparing themselves to be humbled by Staubach/Jordan. Staubach and Jordan were true masters of their game.

At the heights of their careers, both were seen as the best player of their sport and were the single most famous player of their sport. Both were unusually popular.

He and a group apparently tried to buy the Cowboys, I wish he could have pulled it off. Can you imagine him steering the ship and not having to listen to our current jackass owner?

I cant see how his competitive drive wouldn't translate into a lot of sustained success

I wish he would get Aikman, Smith and maybe Moose, and some richer people together and buy this team from Jerruh today.
