to confirm he's a bust and not waste any more time or cap on him? If they know he's not good enough, why keep him on the roster?

I dont know why Im even wasting keystrokes asking q's about this org, no answer will matter with buffoon jones and spawn
I think its one of two things:

1) Jones and Spawn dont want to look even dumber about the Prescott contract. If Lance plays any and looks decent, they'll face even more criticism along with calls to dump Prescott and his albatross contract

2) His contract is guaranteed, so they didnt/dont get anything for dumping him

Players and HCs don't tank, GMs do. It's done all the time (they just don't admit to it). CD Lamb could have been sat. Why risk a season-ending injury for a meaningless game? How would you feel if Lamb is out next year, similar to Overshown, just to win a meaningless game?

You put in a Trey Lance and you tell him to play hard. Players like Rush are not playing for anything other than a new contract. Of course they want to put their best effort. It's not pride, it's greed. They literally have millions on the line. Rush probably added 2 million to his next contract.

As Bryan Broaddus pointed out, other teams are going to poach the Cowboys now.

A smart organization thinks ahead, A stupid organization and DUMBASS FANS think for today. Stupid people can't see beyond their nose.

How does a GM "tank" exactly?

Roster spot, always be churning

not that it matters with the dipshits in charge more concerned about nonsense like saving face

Sounds like Zimmer is considering retirement.

GROZ may have finally broke him.
