IMHO, he'll likely retire. Rumor has it he's been thinking about it. We'll see. At least Hoffman brings some possibility to that position. I'm not ready to pencil him in yet because I remember how Steele looked good and then....Bummer news, but we knew something was wrong with him.
Might be it for him here and if so, he's had an amazing career and is a sure fire first ballot HOFer. Damn shame that like so many others here, he never got to see the ultimate success because of the dipshit owner/GM and the ridiculous way he ran this team.
Because you were doing so much to help his cause when you were playing...
Having a different coach has helped this franchise how many times? NONE! Jerry will never give the full reins to a new HC. Belichick or the next "puppet" would just join the other past coaches by not being able to run or have full control of the team.If Dak wants to help Mike win, then he needs to march into Jerry's office now and cut that 2025 salary cap hit from 33 percent to about 8 percent and not just spread it out over other years.
Hire Belichick (if he'll take the job)!
I'm not buying into the League drama. Mahomes & Kelce Swifty club won't be the first to win 3 straight titles! Call it, Woman's intuition. Detroit/BuffaloLooks like the league is doing everything in their power to ensure a Chiefs-Lions Super Bowl.

The past & future coaches will have their hands tied until Jerry steps aside, or in this case, dies. As dbair1967 posted recently, the best coach Dallas has had since Jerry took over was Jimmy. Keep in mind why Jimmy was the best coach. Jerry let him run the club at the beginning being Jerry just purchased it. Jimmy & Jerry feuded because of Jerry's constant involvement & Jimmy had enough. Jimmy is the only coach in Jerry's ownership that had full control of the Dallas Cowboys at one time.
But at the end of his tenure, he was tired of Jerry's decisions & left. Why be a HC if Jerry's telling you what to do while having no control whatsoever? Not a spot any future young HC's want to be in. Therefore, this franchise will continue being stale. No doubt in my mind, Prescott would be the highest paid player in the NFL had Jerry NOT have control of this team. Nor would Elliott be back. Just horrible decisions by the one & only, Jerry Jones!
Belichick is no dummy. His jet won't be landing in Dallas anytime soon!

Remember last season the SB logo colors? Some fans believed the 2024 Super Bowl logo indicated that the Ravens & 49ers would play in the game.View attachment 16164
I do think the games are rigged to a degree. Refs call a game a certain way that favors the skill set of one team over the other. If, for example, a secondary likes to be grabby, maybe the refs don't call PIs as much.Looks like the league is doing everything in their power to ensure a Chiefs-Lions Super Bowl.
I didn't watch any of the game but have seen a few of the clips, Peckers people have reason to be pretty mad today. Several awful calls and non-calls in Lions favor including an obvious offensive PI on the final drive of the game.
Even fans of other teams were commenting with things like "NFL is becoming unwatchable because games are obviously rigged" etc etc
When Parcells was here we moved in the right direction. He had some poor luck, but things were going in the proper direction. Unless you think Parcells lied, then he did say that he worked well with Jerry and Jerry did not interfere.
Parcells had Jerry's respect.
Don't you think Jerry would respect Belichick just the same if not more?
If that is from Parcells book, then isn't Parcells violating the NDA?Nope, jeri only let Parcells in so he could get the stadium and was reportedly miserable having Parcells around & happy to send him packing because by that point the stadium was approved, financed and in process. The final death nail of any hope fans could influence jeri was sealed when the PSLs were sold. From that point forward, fans had zero leverage and it won't change in his lifetime
I cant find the source but I recall Parcells being quoted as saying something to the effect of "in no time, it'll be like I was never here" regarding his time in Dallas
Jeri no-doubt had a non disclosure agreement in his contract with parcels thus why Parcels doesnt publicly bad mouth him. Jones also had the contract state how credit would be dispersed between him & Parcels proving yet again what an insecure boob the owner is and always has been. Here's the excerpt from Parcels book where he mentions it:

I'm not an attorney, but my little experience with them tells me it would be a violation. Are you positive it is from his book and not some sort of photoshopped image?it is from his book but I don't know if that violates an NDA, I have no proof their is one, I'm merely speculating based on Jones insecurity and being intimidated by strong willed coaches who would take away the limelight he so desperately covets
I seriously think someone photoshopped it. A couple of articles to suggest that it is bullshit.it is from his book but I don't know if that violates an NDA, I have no proof their is one, I'm merely speculating based on Jones insecurity and being intimidated by strong willed coaches who would take away the limelight he so desperately covets

Per my research, that does not appear in any known works written by Bill Parcells.
I think that is fake=fake News.
The second meeting between Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells occurred on Long Island on December 27, two days before the Cowboys’ season finale. With talks becoming more concrete, the owner’s lieutenant/son, Stephen Jones, participated, along with Parcells’s new agent, Jimmy Sexton, in a session that lasted six hours. Since naming himself GM following Jimmy Johnson’s departure in 1994, Jerry Jones had overseen generally poor drafts. Given Parcells’s deep-seated desire to shop for players, personnel power became a crucial issue. As owner, president, and GM, Jones declined to relinquish final authority, but he agreed to give Parcells more sway than any Cowboys head coach since Jimmy Johnson: the new partners agreed on mutual veto power over what players made the roster. Unlike his predecessors, Parcells required autonomy in choosing a staff, and Jones uncharacteristically acquiesced on the matter.
As the negotiating pas de deux continued by telephone, Oakland’s Al Davis, longtime friend of both men, acted as an intermediary. The NFL’s elder statesman believed that although his buddies both wanted credit for a championship, reaching the goal would generate enough kudos to satisfy their outsized egos. Jones and Parcells agreed to a formula on publicly dispensing recognition if Dallas captured a Super Bowl, and to confirm it during the final stages of negotiations, the two read each other the protocol. Then Jones offered Parcells a four-year contract worth $17.1 million, which would give the new head coach an annual salary larger than that of his four predecessors combined.
Parcells should have walked away after the 2005 season when it was apparent Payton was going to leave.By the way, imagine if there had been some foresight and proper planning and Parcells could have promised Sean Payton that he'd be the next HC? I wonder if the topic was even broached.
