Liked him. His only adjustment to the bigger stage is and will be, the much more complex and variable defenses in the NFL.
I dunno. They've only averaged 16 pts per game since he took over and he's absolutely terrible when he tries to push the ball more than 10 yards downfield. He's Mr. Checkdown.

Some of that could be intentional by the coaches.

IIRC he threw 3 or 4 picks the first game he played.

Cowboys opened as 9 pt favorites over the Colts, but after last night's home loss to Stealers it's now jumped to 10.5 at most casinos. Over/under at 44.5

Game should've been flexed, but that's the power of the Cowboys for ya.

I am assuming the decision time to flex games has already passed, but I am a little surprised our game vs Indy wasn't moved to afternoon.

The league had several attractive options: 7-4 Jets at 9-2 Vikings, 7-5 Washington at 7-4 NYG, 7-4 Titans at 10-1 Eagles, 8-3 Dolphins at 7-4 Niners (Miami HC is Shanahan's former OC and both teams are hot) and 9-2 Chiefs at 7-4 Bengals.
I was thinking the same way. You'd think Titans/Eagles or Dolphins/Niners would be the marquee matchups of the week. Guess the Cowboys playing good won out appeal wise?

Thanks for the props. They're hard-earned around here, as should be.

His Seattle coach masterfully masked the many flaws of Russell. For years. And now the same coach is getting pro bowl work out of a guy what was written off as a scrub. And the rest of the world now sees what RW really is.

It's a prime example of our "coaching matters and it matters a lot" mantra.

It's why I like McCarthy. Look what he was able to do with Cooper Rush..........:duel

Like Jimmy was able to do with Buerlein?

What again does the fatass slob bring on game day? It ain't clock management, it ain't strategy. What?

Any QB that wears a glove on his throwing hand in an indoor stadium is a bum.

I guess none of the results we're seeing, including winning with a back-up QB, has anything to do with the HC. Yeah....OK

It's happening in spite of the slob, just like it did with Ginger.

McCarthy is a far better coach than Garrett was.

In terms of what he "does", he does exactly what other walk around head coaches do on game days. And to claim he has nothing to do with strategy is crazy, first you don't KNOW that and second, his background is offense. He said there'd be more focus on the run game this year and there clearly has been. That's one part of strategy.

We won with a back up QB? Are you talking about perennial 8 and 8 Ginger?
McCarthy's overall record with backup QB's (Gren Bay and here) is eons better than Garrett's was.

For Garrett, game's without Romo was almost an automatic loss.

Was talking about the winning you say is happening. It happened in spite of Ginger and is happening in spite of the fat slob.

Neither guy helps for shit on game day or any other day. Neither guy gives us an advantage in any way.
