How fucking horrible. And don't kid yourself, this was done because of the QB's limitations. No one should look at Schultz like he's the best TE in the league. He's a liability in the running game and the dude is a horrendous blocker. He's the kind of player we can replace in the draft.

I don't think because they tagged him they believe he's the best TE in the league or anything.

But he is a solid receiving TE and his numbers the last two years rank well within the top-10 in receptions (very near the top) yards and tds.

I still think his blocking struggles are more technique than anything else. He was regarded as a good blocker at Stanford and Stanford since Harbaugh and Shaw have been there has been a factory for solid TE prospects.

There's some good TE prospects in this upcoming draft and I suspect they will take one somewhere, but I dont think he's easily replaceable THIS year and if they are truly moving on from Cooper (and Wilson likely to leave too) then losing Schultz now would just be another big hole the offense needs to immediately replace.

Hearing a lot closer to 10 mil a year which he is not worth ... it's gonna get ugly lol
How is he not worth it?

Last year was a washout because of the injuries, but he was really good as a #2 the prior 3 yrs. He also was one of the few guys that showed up big (as a rookie too) in the LAR playoff loss.

Did you actually look at his numbers before making the claim he "isnt worth it"?

Slater's track record the last two or three years has been borderline Mike Fisher-esque.

Fisher just got this "breaking news", which has been out there for the rest of the world for 2+ days

I have watched him play and be unable to seperate vs good corners on tape so ya he isn't worth $10 mil a year ...

He showed up vs the Rams eh ? 0 TDs what a performance lols ...

Which moves are so bad?

And the Eagles have far more holes than we do.

Franchising a TE is bad, especially one who is not even close to elite like Dalton Schultz

Restructuring Dak means his bad contract is extended and we are stuck with it for longer

and last but not least losing Cooper (one of Dallas few ELITE talents) will be the worst.

I will take the Eagles as division winners vs Dallas for any amount of $ you would like to wager :)

Never mind the 6 catches for 119 yds right?

Dude had a 1000+ yd season and another with nearly 850, despite playing 2nd fiddle to Cooper and then last yr having a rookie 1st rd pick Cee Dee Lamb to share receptions with. Schultz has ranked near the top of the league in receptions his 2 yrs as a starter too.

Gallup is a solid #2 guy and a decent downfield threat with a propensity for making some amazing catches. He also has good RAC skill.

So even though the guys stats rank near the top of the league for his last two seasons, you don't think he's worth keeping?

I will go find the details again, but I don't recall anything being mentioned in Prescott's restructuring that added years to his current deal, do you have info that says otherwise?

Cooper will be a loss, but only if Gallup isnt healthy and Lamb isnt ready to assume the #1 role. If Lamb irons a few minor things out, he is more than capable of producing big numbers here and replacing Cooper.

The Eagles arn't going to win shit dude. Happy to bet on that.

I've now looked at 3 different articles on Prescott's restructure and none of them mention adding years to his current deal.

The list of franchise tagged players. There's one truly "elite" player on this list.

3 TE's got the franchise tag and Schultz is pretty clearly better than the other two.
