According to a new report there are a number of teams lining up to acquire Lucky
"It doesn't appear Lucky Whitehead will be unemployed for long.
The veteran wideout was promptly released by the Dallas Cowboys on the opening day of training camp after reports surfaced of a warrant issued for his arrest, which stemmed from an alleged petty larceny summons issued on June 22. Whitehead and his agent passionately deny the claims, citing a case of mistaken identity.
The Cowboys didn't buy it, but it looks like several other NFL teams are willing to entertain the story and give him a shot in their camp.
Precisely which teams are lobbying for his services is yet to be disclosed, but there are several who could use a solid kick returner -- or at least a guy that plays one on TV.
IN HIS TWO SEASONS WITH THE COWBOYS, Whitehead was only able to muster 305 total yards returning punts and 846 yards as a kick returner, with ZERO regular season touchdowns in NFL career. (
) And he comes equipped with a myriad of off-the-field issues, including the latest that could result in a league-issued suspension if his alibi doesn't enough water for commissioner Roger Goodell."
