Dak Prescott's chances of becoming a real NFL QB just went up dramatically.

Wade Wilson taking leave of absence.

Oh, but according to Little Forum NAZI Jobberone "it speaks volume's that he has been on the job so long". Yeah, it does... just not in the good way he wants it to be perceived as. It speaks volumes to the inept management of GM Jerry that he brought back this loser after Parcells wanted nothing to do with him.

I always wonder about what goes on in the mind of a person like Little Forum NAZI Jobberone. Doesn't he want the best people for the various jobs related to coaching and managing the Cowboys? Does he not want to win? It boggles the mind of the rational person to ponder their motives.

I don't know what metric you'd use to argue Wilsons effectiveness. Granted we've not thrown a lot of resources at the QB position, but what we have he's done nothing with.

Jobberone is another Hostile fan boy. I recall photos circulating on the other forum of them attending a road game in Atlanta together a few years back.

The metric I would use is that he wouldnt be employed on a good staff. You think Belichek or Harbaugh would have any part of this guy? BTW I dont blame Wilson for milking it. If he can hang on long enough those coaches pensions are supposed to be pretty fat.

thats because Dallas's employer exclusively looks for sycophants

he can't handle anyone stealing his thunder, limelight or gawd forbid clearly demonstrate the ability to do his job because that wouldn't reflect well on the owner/gm

Sounds like Tyrone Crawford will be back at practice Tuesday (Monday is an off day, tomorrow is blue/white scrimmage)

Also read they think Benson Mayowa will start practicing next week. DT Maliek Collins still a couple weeks or so away at least.

Chaz Green got Tyron Smith's starter reps at LT yesterday and Dough Free's reps today at RT.

Now DL Lawrence Okoye is out, has some sort of arm injury.

He had been having a pretty decent camp.

Because of injuries and whatever, yesterday's STARTING DL was Lawrence and Russell at DE, Jack Crawford and UDFA Zach Wood at DT

From dc.com:

•Andy Jones has been the best of the undrafted receivers to make his mark in this first week of practice. Jones has shown up so well that the coaches are using him in sets with the first offense. Jones made two outstanding plays in 1-on-1 of just going to get the ball. He is a physical player off the line, as well. On one snap, he just shoved Deji Olatoye aside and ran his slant inside to finish the play. I had a member of the front office tell me that Tony Romo has so much confidence in his ability that he is not afraid to throw him the ball in any situation. Clearly high praise for the young receiver.

•With all the injuries to the defensive tackles on this squad, it has been undrafted Zach Wood that has been taking the snaps with the first defense in these practices. During the 1-on-1 portion of practice, it was the slippery Wood that was able to get a couple of nice rushes against La’el Collins. Wood was able to take advantage of Collins over setting on him and spin back to the inside for a pressure. On the next rush, it was Wood with straight quickness off the line, which caused Collins to lunge off balance and resulted in him reaching for air. Collins received a third shot at Wood and this time he was ready. Wood made the mistake of trying to take Collins down the middle and his hand placement and power were just too much for him to overcome. It is not surprising that Zach Wood has been running ahead of Rodney Coe, who hasn’t been nearly as consistent with his effort and finish as the coaches would like.

From what I saw on Twitter, either Romo is an interception machine or our secondary is all of a sudden ball Hawks.

Claiborne, Carr, some safety all had int's yesterday and the rookie corner, Brown I think, had two.

Brown's had a number of picks this week. He's off to a really good start.

Claiborne is having a great week so far, but skeptical he will keep it up and/or stay healthy.

although there been nagging injuries, we've not suffered any serious injuries at all. It's been a good camp so far.

Im honestly not sure if it's because our secondary is stepping up early, or because Romo is rusty/sore. He had back stiffness already, hasn't played in a long time, and didn't look that good when healthy next year. So not sure what to make.

its early in camp so frankly pretty meaningless. Now if the same thing is going on in two weeks then it is a viable subject for debate.

Yeah I saw where Dez spoke highly of Claibkrne so that's a good thing.

Preseason games will be interesting

Still think we'll be good because we have one of the better QBs in the game and a great OL.

But the rest of these reports about young player so and so looking great give me the feel of Michael Wiley or Kenyon Rambo looking like studs. Don't believe it at all until I see it with my own eyes.

We have a new secondary coach this year, right?

Joe Baker isn't new but he's the lead guy now I think. Greg Jackson is the new guy and coaches mainly safeties, I think he will definitely help us.

Its still better than hearing "these new guys are overwhelmed" or "the talent just doesn't show up"

There is another option that is neither bad Romo nor good DBs: if the offensive system is a basic philosophical and unchanging finite system, then it shouldn't be that hard for any DBs who have been playing the same system for years to figure out where the ball is going. The complaint against the Coryell offense has always been repetition and predictability but I'm sure in these practices there is no 100% full throttle pass rush to hurry Romo, so chances are he has time to throw too. The good offenses become more complex and change in design as well in personnel. Parcells used to demand that the offense and defense compete aggressively to beat each other (which led to the infamous "Jap Plays" comment). Unless the athletes are extremely elite or unless there is an emphasis on running plays and play action to designed to disguise the otherwise simple 9 non-integrated routes (WCO and E-P etc have routes and paths that pick and shield players to set them free. Landry was big in that as well).

I can't imagine anyone in the secondary are surprised by routes of the offense and will probably be able to shut down the more limited players like Terrance Williams or Streets. Makes sense why Andy Jones would work too not because he has any speed but being that big and strong would be an elite trait which could still make even the most predictable patterns work.

From what I read both TWill and Witten deflected passes of their hands that were intercepted.
