Howley intercepts the ball and returns it inside the Dolphin 5 yard line. Then Calvin Hill fumbles the ball into the end zone for a touchback. the beatdown could have been a lot worse.

I kind of get the feeling that even if Zeke played, the bigger storyline would be about Dak equalling what he did last week...followed by how important it is to have more slow WRs like Mullaney on the team right now. Running a 4.7 for a WR is almost Pro Bowl caliber even for kicks and kick returns.

I hate it. I hate that I'm feeling optimistic about this season. I could see things pulling together with these guys. It doesn't seem impossible that somehow this team could be one of the best teams in the league.

I don't think you are. I definitely think this will be a top team, barring Romo injury of course.

When you have a top QB, it's almost impossible not to have winning seasons. This offense is insanely talented.

When you have a top QB, it's almost impossible not to have winning seasons. This offense is insanely talented.

But then you wake up, smell the coffee and see the hard unforgiving reality of objectivity, and realize that at its core this Dallas team isn't really any better personnel wise overall, than 20 other annually mediocre teams in this league.

Every one of which, can pull off a magical 12-4 season every now and then in between all the 8-8, 9-7, 7-9 and 4-12 campaigns.

I gave you a hard time last year when you posted optimistic thoughts about the Cowboys making a Super Bowl. So although I will take your support at this moment, appreciatively, I probably don't deserve it.

I can see things breaking correctly though. If everything went right, which it seldom does, I could see this being a remarkable season.

Man that photo reminds me how much I used to look forward to the season and the playoffs. Murchison had a lot of baggage but he knew to stay the hell out of the way and let qualified people do their jobs.

According to those around the team this week Prescott didnt have a great week of practice. I expect the hype machine around him to die down considerably this week.

Difficult to imagine someone more different than Jerry. Shit, if Jerry deserves the Hall of Fame, how about Murchison? Murchison stayed out of Landry's way. Jerry couldn't stay out of Jimmy's way.
