I'm watching on DVR So I'm a little behind. Just watched my favorite player Wicox give up a 55 yarder

When will he brake something and be out for the season. Then a play later Carr can't tackle one on one even when he has his guy wrapped up good. Still couldn't take him to the ground

Our secondary is as bad as it was last year

I guess that's what you get when you don't address the issue in free agency or the draft

Zeke is going to get his carries. By all reports, he's simply more physically talented than the other RBs. He's going to get the ball.
If you have a super effective and productive Morris, you keep him in there. Especially in crunch time. Yeah the rookie will see some work, (no one said he wouldn't) but if Morris stays as effective as we've seen in preseason, not nearly as much as say, a Dorsett or a Emmitt did.

A capable veteran kept the rookie Dorsett off the starting lineup until what, week eight?

Well that's completely different times and at the time, Tom Landry's playbook was the most complex in the NFL. He was worried about Dorsett not knowing all he needed to know. He was also somewhat concerned about giving him too much of a workload for his size.

You are out of your mind if you think Morris (who has been really good) is going to keep Elliott on the bench.

He's also a sensational receiver.

We have an awesome situation at RB and on offense in general. This could definitely be a record setting (for our team) offensive year if all the key guys stay healthy.

If Morris is killing it, what coach in his right mind is gonna pull him significantly?

So do we give Bill Parcells and David Lee credit for developing Dak Prescott?

Love Morris and he is playing extremely well, but if Zeke is the far more talented player why would you sit him? They didn't draft him 4th overall and pay him all that money not to utilize him.

Morris is not a breakaway threat nor is he a great receiver. Elliott is both, and Elliott is actually bigger than Morris is.

There's plenty of carries for both to get. 30 rushes a game is 480 carries for the season. Both guys could theoretically exceed 200 carries and at the end of the season neither guy is going to be worn down.
It certainly has the looks of being one of the best 1-2 punches in recent history.

Don't know if anyone else got hurt but LB Mark Nzeocha was hurt early in the game with an Achilles/heel injury and didn't return.

Would suck if he is gone for the year. Really liked his size/speed/range. I think he could have beaten out Wilbur and been a decent upgrade at that OLB spot.

Morris is the proven commodity. Zeke has done absolutely zero. We don't know what he can actually do in the pro game. All we know is he has a bad hammy already, and Morris never gets hurt so far in his career. Availability is the best ability.

Again, I am NOT saying keep Zeke completely out of games. Of course he's gonna see some action. But again like I said, nothing like Emmitt did his rookie year, or even Dorsett - IF Morris shows this type of productivity and the durability he's had in his career.

You wet your panties really easily - you might try actually reading posts instead of just assuming it's something really bad or unreasonable.

I'm guessing that they split carries for a game or two, then Zeke will start to show his ability and become the featured back or starter

I don't see it taking more than one or two games for him to stand out

Unless we bring him back too soon and his hammy lingers or gets worse

I know what you are saying Dooms, but you are retarded with that line of thinking.

The only way Morris is going to get more work or out produce Elliott is if Elliott cant play due to injury.

Emmitt got just over 900 yds and Dorsett just over 1000. Dorsett was on a dominant super bowl team that had a number of good backs on it (none of them were great, and none of the others were explosive talents) yet by seasons end he had the most carries. Emmitt played on a much lesser quality team, got off to a slow start due to hold out (and lousy Dave Shula coaching) but still ended the season strong and had 241 carries. Elliott is going to get more carries than either of those guys.

He's also going to catch a lot of passes.

Orrrrrr, if he simply, cannot play nearly as well as everyone seems to think. He CAN be a total bust, ya know? I agree that's unlikely, but much stranger things have happened.

I don't see Morris equaling his 1,600 yard rookie campaign though. If for no other reason than sharing carries in a RBBC setup Jason prefers.

I guess it COULD happen Dooms, but it'd be pretty shocking considering his physical talent, work ethic, intelligence and the offensive team around him.

I mean if he was on a team like the 1989 Cowboys, yeah expectations for him would and should be less. But he's in a unique position.

I do love it that we signed Morris though. The 1-2 punch these guys offer will be huge if they stay healthy.

Well we now have a 1400 yard piece of trade bait in McFadden

It would be nice to get some depth on the D line for him

Shit I'd take a stale bag o chips for him

He did a good job for us last year but he simply is not needed. He's more valuable as a trade piece than as a 3rd or 4th back

Why isn't McMuffin playing?
