Raiders signed Trent Richardson.

So we replaced Murray with McFadden and then the Raiders stooped even lower to replace McFadden with Richardson.

Unfortunately we don't have another back on the roster like the Raiders already do with that young guy.

Hopefully Broaddus is wrong, but disappointing if true:

I think RoMac is a damn nutcase. I read a week ago that the coaches had a lot of concerns about him. He did make the defense better. A little crazy goes a long way.

Gawd dammit, I hate this every time I see it. The defense was NOT better. It was on the field for 150 snaps fewer.

Wouldn't a better defense plays fewer snaps? You know, since they are better?

Everyone knows it played fewer snaps because we kept it off the field with the running game. 400 frikkin carries by Murray and almost record setting 3rd down conversion rate on the offense as well. Side effect was, our poor punter was no longer among the league leaders either since he didn't get much work compared to prior years.

Anyone here REALLY think this crap defense was any better? It avoided injuries and stayed off the field. (Those two go together by the way.)

Yeah, our defense was without a doubt better. Between McClain, Hitchens and Durant it was without a doubt better. Sure, it's because we stayed healthy, but isn't that the MO for any unit in the NFL that excels?

116 fewer snaps played than 2013, as it turns out.

No, I don't trust this piece of shit defense to stop anyone. Giving up five points per game less than last year's debacle can be fairly attributed to playing 116 fewer snaps. So can the much better performance on the injury front.

It wasn't better, just played significantly less.

It was both. Of course less time on the field helped, but with McClain and company on the field it absolutely played better. There is no real debating that.

I won't debate it then. I simply disagree. A major part of the debacle of last year was, injuries and I said all along that if they could avoid the flood of injuries, the D would rank better. And it did.

Playing 116 fewer snaps means fewer injuries. Fewer injuries means better D, because your starters play.

I have zero faith in these fucks at all, to play defense. And I don't give any of the players any credit, for shit. The offense carried their sorry asses.

116 less plays over a season equals 7 plays less a game. Factoring in that most offensive campaigns are 6-7 series a game, you are looking at one extra play per series.

The offense definitely helped the defense, I would never argue that, but to say it was the only reason is idiotic.

RoMac brought a nasty attitude to the defense and the offense had to respect the MLB position for a change. He brought some toughness to the defense that it didn't have without him. I don't know how that is not easy to see.

We were 2nd in the league in turnovers. We still weren't great but we were definitly better then the historically bad year we had before.

Raven RB Bernard Pierce cut due to his DUI arrest. I've always had an interest in taking him off the Ravens' hands. Maybe now is the time?
