i dont see any way that changes. look at those tiny arms. he is so little and he has to operate in an area where dudes look like Kam Chancellor. You're gonna drop/fumble a few here and there.

@robphillips3: Garrett: McFadden progressing well in rehab, hopefully will practice Saturday. No timetable for Rolando McClain yet.

Yep, I've thought since at least last year that Beasley is basically uncoverable in space. As he and Romo's rapport only gets better, I can't see him being stopped as long as Dez is out there demanding attention. He's just too quick for single coverage no matter who it is.

And to think this kid walked out of camp and was going to retire.

Major props to whomever in the organization talked him out of it.

So Randle was out of practice today with a strained oblique. Probably not going to play Thursday. How are we not signing bodies to carry the ball. We have two guys at RB for first preseason game? Sounds like a good idea.

Sounds like they really want to see what Gus Johnson can do and intended to give him a lot of work anyway Thursday.

Weeden and those 3rd QB's also need to show what they can do throwing the ball. Its possible if none of them show improvement during training camp and preseason that somebody not here now will end up the 2nd QB (and only other QB on team)

I think they know none of those guys are really very hurt and have no worries about them being back in plenty of time for the season.

I've seen quite a bit in my day....but I never thought I'd see the day when we'd be holding back and protecting a scrub like Randle (and Dunbar) in the preseason. Then again, I never thought I'd see the day when I had to root for Brandon Weeden. My fanhood is seriously being tested........

I think that's exactly what they're doing -- protecting everyone. This camp is much more about staying healthy than sharpening up the team.

Tyler Clutts will carry this team on his back ... during the first preseason game.

A pet peeve -- Some in the media are voicing hope that Mo Claiborne will be fully recovered from his injury and will return to his previous form.

What kind of form would that be exactly? Claiborne has never been a good NFL CB. Eleven months ago (even) Jerry Jones publicly admitted that Claiborne was a disappointment. Not long after that, Claiborne lost his starting position to Scandrick. I just don't understand why people expect Claiborne to suddenly become a better player than he was before his injury.

Totally agree, Zero. It's just more of the "everything is great" theme from the media this camp. Which was pretty much expected coming off the year last year and the way it ended.

I do wonder this about Claiborne: Was his injury not as bad as reported, or a little different from what was reported? Because the dearly departed Ryan Williams talked at length about it and how the docs said he may never play or even walk normally again, and how terrible and long the rehab and recovery were. And to me, he sounded credible talking about it. But we hear that Claiborne and for that matter Victor Cruz are almost (or are) 100%. What's going on there? It's not like Williams' injury was 10 years ago and the surgery and rehab have dramatically changed, at least as far as I know.

Should the Cowboys look for a veteran receiver?
By Todd Archer

OXNARD, Calif. – After 10 practices -- eight the full-padded variety -- it’s time to bring out Five Wonders after spending some time on the reserve/physically unable to come up with stuff list.
For all of the talk around the Cowboys regarding the addition of a veteran running back, I wonder if they need to look for a veteran wide receiver. Dez Bryant's injury has shown just how thin the Cowboys are at receiver. If something were to happen to Bryant or Terrance Williams in the regular season, they don't have a ready-made outside receiver. Devin Street is supposed to be that guy but he's been slowed by an ankle injury and not had the greatest of starts to camp. Cole Beasley has not been defended yet in camp, but I don't know if he can be a full-time receiver outside. The same goes for Lucky Whitehead. The other receivers have yet to do much to distinguish themselves yet either. Basically here's what the Cowboys need: The 2011 version of Laurent Robinson.

Pulled muscles can be chronic. I guess you would rather have them come back too early and be injured all season. This camp has been very physical.

Why is Geno out 6-10 weeks for a broker jaw? Witten came back in two weeks. I know you have to call the cadence, but it shouldn’t take him that long.

BTW, can you imagine if a player broke Romo’s jaw?
