Knee stiffness keeps Claiborne off practice field two days before chance to test new scheme in preseason
Cornerback Morris Claiborne said he woke up Wednesday with stiffness in the knee he “jammed” in practice a day earlier, but he’ll try to work in the walk-through on Thursday and be ready for Friday’s preseason game.
“I’m really looking forward to this game, to being out there with my teammates, because I know this will probably be the first game that everybody will get the chance to take some snaps,” he said. “I just want to go out there with our new scheme and go out with the first D and be out there with my teammates for the first game.”
Claiborne said he hasn’t had an X-ray or an MRI on the knee. He said the trainers wanted him to stay off of it Wednesday.
“I’m looking forward to coming out tomorrow and being on the field,” he said. “That’s my hopes, my expectations for myself tomorrow.”
