after i praised him...

He wasn't horrible (other than a couple plays) but he just doesn't get any push in the run game. I don't see how they can reasonably expect him to start.

Bernadeau on the other hand looked hopeless to me.

In addition to below, Parnell was a healthy scratch (they let Bell and Weems take all the backup snaps, and both were horrendous) and Phillip Tanner DNP either.

Cowboys missing 10 defensive players

August, 17, 2013

By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

GLENDALE, Calif. -- The Dallas Cowboys will be without 10 defensive players for Saturday afternoon's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Three of the missing defensive players, Anthony Spencer, Jay Ratliff and Morris Claiborne, are starters.

Sean Lissemore, Ernie Sims, Alex Albright, Matt Johnson, J.J. Wilcox, Eric Frampton and Toby Jackson are also out on the defensive side. Wilcox is missing the game for a personal reason. His mother died Tuesday.

On offense, Nate Livings, Ronald Leary, Kevin Kowalski, Ryan Cook, Ray Dominguez and Cole Beasley are out because of injury.

The Cardinals are missing Jarett Dillard, Jonathon Amaya, Ryan Williams, Javier Arenas, Dan Giordano, Rashard Johnson, Karlos Dansby, Kory Sperry, Jeff King, Dan Williams, Ricky Lumpkin and Frostee Rucker.

In terms of significant lineup changes, David Arkin starts at left guard for the Cowboys with Leary and Livings out. Tyrann Mathieu will start for the Cardinals at safety over Johnson, who is absent because of of an injury.

Very disappointing game. Not because i don’t think the Cowboys can make plays...they obviously can, but because they continue to do the same things that have killed them the past few years. Personally i don’t see a team that is coached well. I would have benched Harris for the rest of the game after that fumble. You have to start sending messages and i don’t see any sent. Also troubling is to have Stephen Jones making halftime comments. STFU, it should be the coach doing that. Also, 100 million dollar QB needs to hit a wide open receiver. Orton looked like shit. Tanny showed something.

Garrett did make comments at the start of the second half. And come one... it's Babe Laufenberg interviewing his boss.

Game was fucking sloppy.

Turnovers left and right. Didn't look like any of the WRs were on the same page with Orton. If someone would trade for him, I'd fucking ship him if that's all he's going to provide. You don't need to pay millions for someone to play like that.

Missed the game while taking a tour of the stadium today. It was nice, but I wasn't blown away. I'll post pics and details tomorrow or Monday.

Yet Jerry takes slow uncoordinated TE, a slow ass Rb, a project safety and a worthless cb and fails to address the lines again.

The Cowboys are going to be bad this year, real bad. It'll all fall on Garrett when a bulk if the blame should go to the ****** in charge.

I doubt it. Too much talent on the roster. They are doing do what they did tonight. Good enough to kick the shit out of teams, only to make stupid mistakes and give the games away. BTW, Carson Palmer looked terrible.

The Cardinals are one good QB from being a very good team.
