Giants S Antrell Rolle to have MRI on ankle
The New York Giants are hoping for the best after veteran safety Antrell Rolle injured his right ankle during practice on Monday according to Dan Hanzus of nfl.com.
Rolle was injured while attempting to defend a David Carr pass intended for tight end Bear Pascoe. Rolle and Pascoe crashed to the turf after becoming entangled while jumping for the ball. Rolle, in obvious pain, was tended to by trainers before being carted off the field. The Giants will await the results of an MRI before releasing any further information to the media.
Rolle is a team leader for the Giants both on and off the field for the past three seasons. The team can probably survive with out him but head coach Tom Coughlin does not want to test that theory. "I would much rather have (Rolle)," Coughlin said, via Newsday. "Hopefully it's an ankle and he's coming right back."
