I don't know shit about college ball.

Who should I look at for OT (Either, I don't care LT or RT, get the best one and have Tyron fill the other)?

Who should I look at for OG and and DL?

Without factoring trade ups a short list would be
G -Chance Warmack - looks like iupati
G - Johnathan cooper - fast, light on his feet, gets up field, cut blocks
T - Dj fluker - mauler
De - barkevious Mingo - hybrid de, crazy speed
De - ezekial Ansah - doesn't know what a 3 point stance is but has a great body, frame, speed, strength

And broaddus won't stfu about sharif floyd

Man, I'd hate to spend to move up again, but Damontre Moore sitting there at 13 would be pretty damn tempting.

There isn't anyone I would trade up for in the 1st round this year. As much as I want Cooper or Warmack, I'd wait til 18 to get them. Plus, if they are gone it means a DT, DE, or even a T should slide to us.

I'm not seeing it, what does he excel at?

Sacking the QB? 26.5 on his career
TFL? 45 for his career
FF? 8

Just for comparisons sake against your guy Mingo:

Sacks: 15
TFL: 29
FF: 4

Plus he's shown an ability to be scheme diverse and played against top competition

No, I'm not advocating a trade up. The team does too much of that as it is. Need a meat and potatoes draft. I just would be surprised if Moore slides to 13.

Watching his game against Florida, what'd you think of it?

I see great angles in pursuit and an ability to chase down a shitty qb. Speed and strength Look good. Hands meh. Played outside more than I thought.

I don't really see a huge plus though. Like just a lot of taking advantage of the shitiness of a particular play. I don't think he's someone worth trading up for because I don't see constant pressure

Yeah, I'm not sure how good of a fit he'd be in Dallas. I do think he is probably a weak side guy only at this point and he is relatively new to playing with his hand in the dirt which might be why he struggles knocking balls down. He should be better with his long arms. His best fit is probably 3-4 weakside OLB. He seems to struggle when he has to stack and shed. Pretty athletic though and he has the production to back it up. I still think he is one of the blue chip pass rushers in the draft.

Sean Porter still impresses in skinnying his shoulders/making himself smaller &redirecting to ball at heel depth. 43 Sam w/pass rush ability

Alex Brown ‏@ABXXV25
Porter may be an overrated athlete. Has to gear down in space, isn't fluid in pursuit, appearing a bit leggy at times.

So Sean Porter vs Louisiana Tech was really bad. Looked like a scheme-dependant, limited contributor at the next level w/zero cover skills

Broaddus already essentially nixed him but:

Barkevious Mingo is undeniably talented — maybe the most talented player in this year’s NFL draft — but at LSU he was a 230-pound defensive end. And there aren’t many 230-pound defensive ends in the NFL.

So that’s why Mingo has been bulking up over the last six weeks. And Mingo says he’s getting significant results.

“The most important thing, I think, to show is that I’ve increased weight — putting on a lot of weight, putting on a lot of size,” Mingo said on NFL AM. “I’m weighing 245 now. I played most of the season at 230.”

Despite that weight gain, Mingo says he has actually gotten faster, and he wants NFL teams to know he’ll be able to play either defensive end or outside linebacker in the pros.

“I think I can do it all,” Mingo said. “I’ve been working on linebacking skills, driving back in coverage — that was something I was lacking at LSU. Working on getting my hands better.”

Mingo is widely viewed as a Top 10 pick. If he shows at the Scouting Combine that he really is bigger and faster, he’ll solidify that status.

I'd pull the trigger regardless of our alignment or his weight. More speed, more flexibility, more pressure.

Put it this way, if the giants got him how would you feel. Exactly.

I bet Mingo goes way before we pick by some team that needs a 34 rusher. Because I agree, the guy looks like a stud. (And also agree with dbair that he looks bigger than 230, or at least that he has the frame to carry a lot more.)

So what draft him as our SOLB version of Von Miller? That's the only way I can see that working. If we play him at end full time we'll die.

very good call SP. He'd have to play SAM on 1st and 2nd down, and then LDE (or RDE) on 3rd. Or we use him like the Seahawks used Bruce Irvin. Start the big run guy (Hatcher or Crawford) and bring in Mingo on obvious passing plays.

He has the frame of someone who'd have a tough time staying under 260 when it's all said and done.

Shades of Tyron at USC, even though barky is older than Tyron was

I don't think he's underrated but what I like about him is he's like a Sean lee. Players looked to him for the big plays and he came through. Super aware like lee in that he'll sniff out a screen, avoid any blockers, and blow it up. He's also skilled enough to track down wr's on these smoke screens that's seem to be getting more popular.

Not the best stack & shedder, but RU loves to play small and use speed & angles so he's used to working through blocks. And I've been reading about how that's becoming outdated anyway. I think he's worth a 3rd and we wouldn't regret it

Some peolpe said David DeCastro was the best guard prospect since Steve Hutchinson. Are Jonathan Cooper and Chance Warmack better than that?
Mel Kiper (1:38 PM)

They have a higher grade than DeCastro did. They'll go higher. DeCastro went 24 to the Steelers. He finished up on my Big Board at No. 12. Right now I have Warmack at 9 and Cooper at 10. They're expected to come off the board at 11 and 18.

Mel, Dallas needs OL help but I bet they end up taking Ezekiel Ansah...I bet they are intrigued by his potential and dont want to miss out on the next JJP.
Mel Kiper (1:57 PM)

They need an impact safety. They need interior line help. Kenny Vaccaro, safety, Texas; Chance Warmack, Cooper at OG. Guys like Ansah are going to have a lot of interest because he has pass rush potential. He has to develop some technique. He's got raw talent. He wasn't even the starter until the fourth game of the season this year. He had no sacks until this year. He's very raw. Limited football background. But he's tough. He made his presence felt midyear and on. He made himself known at the Senior Bowl. He might be a guy that teams stretch a little bit for.

Sounds impossible...

FWIW, forgot to mention it before. But yesterday Mosley said he knows for a fact that we like Brian Winters, the guard from Kent State. He said 3rd round or so? Adjust mocks accordingly. (dbair removes Winters from all mocks)

will cause a reporter to mention Larry Allen? Check.

Welcome to Dallas Mr. Winters.
