I think its time you guys put this train of thought to bed...it isnt happening...may have a long time ago, but definitely not anymore

they cut draft picks last yr, and reportedly are cutting Coale and Jones' personal fav, Leary

Long time ago? Stanback, Buehler and AOA were kept around much longer than need be. Add McGee to the list if he makes the roster.

"Cowboys rookie safety Matt Johnson has been told he will be on the team’s active roster, a league source said."

I'd hate to think that we're keeping certain guys to spare Jerry embarrassment over the draft, but I wouldn't put it past them.

cant speak for anyone else but I would bet anything that Matt Johnson is here because the position is thin. The team simply needs someone there...

hopefully he will be ready to help after the bye.

Stanback: after his second setback
McGee: today
Buehler: never would have drafted him
AOA: after his first training camp

I think you'll get your wish on McGee

IIRC, wasnt Buehler drafted the yr Folk had his hip surgery? If so, you cant really fault the team for trying to be proactive.

AOA was a small school project. I think you have to plan on giving those types of guys 2-3 seasons to develop, otherwise you shouldnt draft them at all.

Stanback I agree with you on, but he's alot like AOA. He was a major project and if you dont want to give them any time to develop, you shouldnt draft them.

I would agree with that. I think they like his talent and upside, and unlike some of the other positions (like WR and LB) we dont have alot there beyond the two starters.

Coale, a guy who might have served as the 6th WR and been inactive for all 16 games

Coale got whacked because he missed too much time and Beasley took the role they had envisioned for him

April dbair and August dbair are at odds

Coale was graded by our lads as a top 150 prospect!!

Nah. Felix is a real NFL player. He wasn't brought here to be the feature back anyway.

Who actually made the team, is there a current list? Seems like alot of dudes that shouldnt have made the team, made it. I knew Jerry and Garrett wouldn’t part with McGee. They just believe in this dude for whatever reason. Trade bait maybe? I have never liked McGee. He reminds me of a white Quincy Carter.

they've supposedly notified 22 of the 23 cuts, but nothing has been officially announced by the team...FWIW, Mike Fisher is reporting McGee is gone

as for your Carter comparison, McGee isnt a drugged out turnover machine who doesnt work hard

Looks like former Viking and Fin Ryan Cook is on the team. Sounds like a worthy attempt at an upgrade.

On the other hand, if one of the worst teams in the league is about to cut you, you probably suck. But you might suck less than some of the other stiffs we have.

at least he had pouncey in front of him.

We need guards/center bad.......its scary that both guard were hurt all summer and the backups are arkin/dockery.

so at least this gives us a guy who is not old and has played in 77 games...

I guess....

Yeah, I'd rather play a guy who has started than someone like Arkin.

I just wonder why we always have to trade with the Fins. I mean, I know we know them well and all that, but that's such a lame reason.

Its got to be that though. Ireland was in charge of all our scouts so they probably have a really good relationship. So there is probably a built in trust there that neither side will try to take advantage of each other and be honest.

Its just like teams that play each other in the preseason are usually because the coaches trust the other coach or whatever.

I mean in this case Jeff Ireland is the GM and brian gaine is his right hand man. They were our guys until they left and they were ahead of ciskowski. So everybody knows each other well.

Who knows. Maybe callahan is the tony romo of OL coaches.

Everyone thought Livings and Bernie sucked. They've been fine so far.

Maybe Cal can turn this turd around too

he is just a veteran role player who can play three positions on gameday in case of emergency.....this allows us not to put arkin if there is an injury.

also I imagine we traded a 7 to them for a guy they were going to cut because this assures you get him....if he is cut and has to clear waivers you may not be awarded him if you claim him.....so the 7 guarantees you get him...obviously.....
