I think the Cowboys secondary finally gets some interceptions. Cowboys are a good team and i think they will win some games from here on out. Obviously this team is a long ways off from being a real contender. Haven’t been impressed with anything the Panthers have done. Surprised Cam regressed or hasn’t played as well this season. I like the way he plays.

For me, it all hinges on New York.

I think we beat Carolina easily. I think we'll look like world-beaters doing it. The key will be when New York travels to Dallas the following week.

They're clearly the best team in the division and I actually expect them to beat us without much effort. But if we somehow win that game, I think we can salvage the season and the early missteps are pretty much forgiven as far as I'm concerned, as we'll be 4-3 with a virtual 1.5 game lead on the Giants.

That would be great. The Giants game is going to be huge. Division is still wide open. Cowboys haven’t played the Eagles or Skins yet. Way too early to count anyone out in the NFC East.

Every week some clown posts this Is the week the secondary gets Ints, lol

This defense is a piece of shit

If you guess the same thing for 17 straight weeks, you might hit once, even w this defense

Eagles seem to be a mess. I think they're on the verge of turning to Foles - who has upside but isnt' ready.

Wouldn't shock me to see them finish in fourth place.

Washington we'll likely split with, but I just don't think they're very good overall. I see them as a .500 team.

Damnit, mid. Change your screenname back. The current one is to long.

I'll change my username back when Jerry dies. Because as a fan, I'll have to have lower expectations so long as he's running things in Dallas.

But you can call me LE for short.

The defense has enough talent in the secondary to get interceptions on any given weekend. Not sure why it hasn’t happened, but logic would tell that they are coming. Laws of nature.

The defense is good, but not great. If they don’t get a 3 and out, they seem to not be able to stop the bleeding. They have to stop trying to do too much. Just do your job. That 46 yard to Rice that Lee gave up was a product of that.

It’s easy to just get pissed off and scream like a baby how awful everything is. Have to stop, step back and look at it from a realistic perspective.

Honestly, no result would really surprise me...blowout win, blowout loss, close win, close loss

just have no idea what to expect
Same here. Don't know what to expect anymore.

And this week you don't know what to expect out of the other team either. Are they the team that played ATL so tough? Or are they a 1-4 team? Is Newton just not that good, or is he playing below his level so far and is due for a good game?

We should win, but nothing would surprise me. Well, a blowout loss for us would surprise me.

Panthers worried about status of Beason and Gamble
Posted by Darin Gantt on October 18, 2012, 3:18 PM EDT

APAs if the Panthers didn’t have enough problems, they’re now uncertain about the status of two of their top defensive players (of which there are not enough).

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he was “most certainly concerned” about the long-term status of linebacker Jon Beason (knee) and cornerback Chris Gamble (shoulder), according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.

Both players missed practice Thursday. Gamble had worked the day before, but aggravated a shoulder injury.

When asked if they were candidates for injured reserve, Rivera didn’t dismiss the possibility.

“That’s tough to say, just because we’ll see [Friday],” Rivera said. “Chris had come back feeling pretty good after having two weeks off basically and ran around really well. Then came in this morning and was complaining about the stiffness and soreness that he had from a shot he took.”

As much as losing Beason would hurt, the Panthers at least have cover in the middle in rookie Luke Kuechly. Frankly, Kuechly looked better in the middle in their previous game against Seattle than Beason had, as Beason has been notably less mobile coming off last year’s Achilles tear.

Losing Gamble would be a major blow, as it takes away their one true cover corner. Captain Munnerlyn would replace him in the starting lineup, and while Munnerlyn had a pick-six against the Seahawks, he’s lost his starting job to fifth-round rookie Josh Norman for a reason.

But as many problems as the defense has, it puts even more pressure on quarterback Cam Newton and offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski to get their respective acts together.

The Panthers needed to lean on the offense this year anyway, but that’s been the biggest drop-off five games into this season.

I'm afraid the shit is going to hit the fan after this game because I don't think Carolina is as bad as some folks like to think. The Cowboys are coming off a rough road loss and have to play on the road again, they're racking up injuries and won't have Murray, Lissamore, Costa?, others? Carolina has had a bye week to give them extra time to prepare. Add it all up and I can see the Cowboys dropping to 2-4 and poo flying everywhere.

The realistic perspective is our defense is a piece of shit. If you suggest otherwise, it's nothing other than you wearing rose colored glasses.

Need more pass-rushers on D, that's for sure.

And why the fuck have we wasted so much time on Jason Hatcher? This dude is probably our longest tenured Cowboy now. Welp, there's Witten though.

I don't see us losing this game. Had we won in Baltimore, we might have looked past Carolina, but that's not an option this week. Always go with the more talented roster from top to bottom, and that's us.
