So instead of continuing to fill our OLB ranks, we have to trot out a gimpy Ware.

Hey you know that HOF super dependable freak Parcells gifted you? Yea now you gotta replace him good luck

Basically... all any rival fan has to say is "Yeah but Romo" and it's like "Checkmate."

As a Cowboys fan, you just have to tuck your tail and walk away at that point.

For over a year at Least

Thats one of the major problems, we cant do anything fundamentally sound. The tackling is atrocious. They cant block worth a damn most of the time. They dont understand basic situational stuff (ie the punter/deep snapper totally blowing that gimmee 5 yd penalty before halftime when the Redskins had 30 players on the field)

I guess I'll have to bring back my trainwreck pic.

I believe there is a strong correllation between being a good tackling team and creating turnovers. Teams that emphasize creating turnovers by stripping the ball, emphasize the importance of tackling in order to accomplish the feat.

I don’t think so. I am proud of the boys. Team is so fucked up with injuries and they still kept it close and almost came back. Romo is a great QB, only reason the Cowboys were in this position.

Romo is not great. He's a liability in these games.

Great QB's are not liabilities in big games.

I don't care how pretty his stats are.

I know alot of people want to really believe this, but I saw a trainwreck 1-7 team go 5-3 down the stretch without a single snap from Romo in 2010, and that 5-3 could have easily been 6-2 or 7-1 if not for a couple of crazy plays.

At some point after this long, you have to start asking is Romo the reason we havent done anything in the past 7 seasons.

Idk being down in 16 straight games you're bound to fuck up one of the comeback drives. You're telling me there was No pressure down 21-10?

We can win with him, the schoolyard shit is just unsustainable they need a real team

If we had an HC/OC that knew the fuck they were doing... he might not have to resort to the schoolyard shit.

I get what you're saying. And part of me wants to turn the page just bc I'm sick of this topic .

We're really almost like a pretend team.

Romo threw 3 INT's. He deserves a huge chunk of blame... but how the f did you just watch that game and not realize we have zero help on the sidelines. Redskins blitzed us and manned up our WR's. Most of the time the CB's were 7 or 8 yards off the WR. What do we do? We run, slow developing plays that play right into their hands.

On defense they basically beat us with a read option with a less-than-blazing halfback and a gimpy quarterback. Ryan screams and waves his clipboard around but does he change anything we're doing? No.

Injuries were a major factor. Mostly because our crackpot General Manager blows middle rounds picks year after year and we have zero roster depth.

Coaching and personnel decisions, as well as the "country club" atmosphere is our biggest downfall. No accountability is why we have a core of players who don't handle pressure.

I haven’t been buying what you have been selling for weeks. I think you are full of shit. Romo has been playing behind a fucking shitting ass offensive line. No running game. Poor WR play from different players. A defense that can’t cause turnovers and a head coach that is over his head. Give me a break. I saw Romo bring the team back from the dead with his own talents and street ball. Try another idiot poster, i am sure they will buy your crap. Not me.

don't agree. The coaching staff can be fixed. There is no salary cap for coaching staffs so let's see Jerry spend some of that "most valuable franchise in sports" money on better coaches. Joe D has to go. Rob Ryan has to go. Garrett has to hire a real playcaller and then let them actually call plays.

Some of our philosophies/strategies have to go to. This desire to be a small 3-4 is beyond stupid. The whole, rush 3, cover with 8 is idiotic when you insist on playing Safeties with zero ball awareness. Garrett's refusal or inability to adjust during games is awful.

Romo can win, but he needs some help. He needs better blockers, a defense that can manufacture some turnovers, and coaches that can see what Romo can't and can correct Romo's mistakes. We win and lose with Romo's play, we ride him until the wheels fall off. It doesn't mean we shouldn't improve his surroundings.

^^^ THIS. I'm pissed at Romo, but the real problem lies beyond him. Romo throws over 4,600 yard and for 26 TDs. That should be fucking enough to win the division and make the playoffs. When your QB finishes with those kind of numbers and yet the team goes 8-8---STRUGGLING TO MAKE THAT... it's not the QB, that's the problem.
