the quincy game was 02.

the 05 game was wild like last sundays game was wild. we were losing most of the day then came back and there was a penalty on a field goal attempt which allowed us then to score a td and a 2 pt conversion if I remember correctly.

mostly though because we got beat 35-3 the week before in washington everyone assumed we would just lay down. Carolina was a good team and we beat them in there place. Pretty nuts. 3 weeks later carolina blanked the giants in ny in the playoff game.

What year was it that TNew completely made Steve Smith a non-factor and he (Smith) got so frustrated he got himself ejected from the game?

That might've been the pinnacle of Newmans career.

That, or his three interception game vs Washington his rookie year.

We talk about Newton Williams and Smith with this Panthers group but watch Greg Olson today. Ryan could treat him like a WR in coverage

That was the 05 game that smith got ejected.

I was just listening to the pregame show. They had a panthers writer on and he said don't expect to see the zone option crap today. The team is determined to run a tradiotional offense and hand it to there backs today. Said newton spent the week off at home in Atlanta and cleared his head. The organization spent 45 million dollars on resigning both backs this year and they average only a few touches a game.

It's almost like clockwork that we are going to face them off a bye where they can regroup. It just seems this has been the m.o. For our team for 10 years.

This game is making me more nervous by the second. Our defense better be ready to play today. I really hope we don't see Jenkins and cliaborne rolling around early in the game injured.

Mickey just said we are on pace for the franchises lowest number of turnovers. The number is 7 in 89

Apparently Jerry flew to the game on the team plane which he never does

Mike fisher said there is a lot of tension around the team right now

Also said costa and Bryant are playing for sure but spencer is a game time decision.

I bet Jerry probably senses the tension within the team, and he probably tries to interact with the players on the flight over like his presence will make people feel better.

He so longs to be accepted it's comical.

Fisher was speculating that Jerrys comments the other day about winning now was a message to the fans and the team that it's about winning now and everyone but realize it.

Should that have read "everyone better realize it?"

Supposedly, based on Jason Wittens abundance of interviews in which he talked about how the team realized this year was important and all the "closing window" talk this pre-season... that this team would be fully aware.

It's tragic that this actually needs to be emphasized by or to the team in the first place.

Panthers' 3rd CB today will be Josh Thomas, the Cedar Hill grad drafted by the #Cowboys in the 5th Round in '11. In other words, attack him.

It is tragic that this team needs to self-motivate week in and week out, especially when times are tough, as opposed to just having a philosophy of you know, being motivated period. This team basically has 0 organizational structure, it's Garrett espousing in press conferences what his team needs to be in order to be competitive and noone else is listening.

Anyone getting the eerie feeling we make Newton look like the college version of himself today. We always have ways to cure what ails a struggling player or team.

Of course.

Steve smith can go crazy at any moment and have a huge game even thou he is 100 years old.
