I didnt get the sense that baker thought crawford was a year away at all...sounded like he is going to play a key role in all of those sub sets that we were constantly in last year.
Sorry, I meant as a full time player. Everything I read last night said situational pass rusher, bulk up and be a starter down the road.
Martin would contribute on Special Teams right away and be ready to replace Pool in 2013.
The Cowboys are saying Crawford is a year away .

what is his injury? I didnt hear norm say what it was...
According to NFL Network we are targeting this guy for safety...
DeQuan Menzie, CB, Alabama
Height: 5-11. Weight: 202.
40 Time: 4.63.
Vertical: 33. Broad: 9-8.
Arm: 30. Hand: 8 1/2.
Projected Round (2012): 3-5.
4/25/12: Menzie did not perform very well at the Combine, putting up a slow 40 time and not looking fluid in the field work. He came back to perform well at his pro day. Menzie improved his 40 time into the 4.5s and was said to be impressive in the field drills. Previously, he was solid at the Senior Bowl.
Menzie had a strong season which has raised his draft stock. In 2011, he recorded 41 tackles with four tackles for a loss, 11 passes broken up and one interception returned 25 yards for a score. Menzie had tight coverage all year, even with teams challenging him to avoid throwing at Dre Kirkpatrick. Menzie is an underrated prospect, and he could play in a man or zone scheme in the NFL.
8/25/11: DeQuan Menzie is an interesting sleeper prospect for the 2011 season. The junior college transfer made a quick comeback from a torn achilles tendon to play last season. He started seven games and recorded 33 tackles with five tackles for a loss, two sacks and four passes broken up. Menzie could be much improved in 2011, as he is more than a year removed from his surgery. With standout teamamtes Dre Kirkpatrick, Mark Barron and Robert Lester also in the secondary, Menzie figures to get tested and targeted often this season.
4.63 40? Another step slow safety. No thank you. We have an excellent deep ball thrower (Eli) and two of the fastest QB's around in our division. Let's stop putting Linebacker-slow Safeties back there and wondering why we can't defend anyone.
Football speed is more important than timed speed.
I have a feeling Jenkins gets wholesaled today. We ship him off for like a 6th or something.
It's the standard measurement football uses to judge a player's speed. It isn't the end all but it's the tool teams use.
Menzie doesn't appear fast on the field either.
