I love people when talking about trading up for Barron. "He's a strong safety, I don't want to trade up for a strong safety. Now if he was a free safety..."

Uh, that position is interchangeable in Dallas!!

who cares what safety position he plays...there's two out there and we suck at both of them, and have for years

the fact is the guy's a good player at a position of weakness, and he has a track record for making alot of plays vs the pass and the run

he's be a really good add here and I think he's a safe pick...I think at worst he's a 10yr solid starter

And I believe Mayock's mock show tonight is just HIS mock draft projections...the thing thats running lvie right now is something where several of the nfl.com people are making the picks

I really do not want Brockers. I'm about to go into a deep, dark depression. See you fuckers in August.

If we did end up with him, I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised down the road

He's pretty dominant on the field. People want to note some lack of sack production there with him, but LSU consistently rotates 7 or 8 guys up front. If he had more snaps he'd have more production.

Virtually every game I watched you could see him making an impact. Maybe it wasnt because of an eye opening "play" but you could see OL's had to dedicate a couple guys or some creative blocking schemes to neutralize him.

If they draft him and put him on Ware's side of the fomation, I bet Ware starts seeing easier lanes to the QB

It's interchangable if you have two guys who can cover.

Barron can cover.

And some of you are going way over the top with this b/s. Its not like we (or virtually anyone) line up their safeties in press man coverage on opposing WR's and ask them to cover them all over the field like a CB would.

He's young so I realize there is room to improve but he just doesn't appear to be a pass rusher at all. He looks like he will be what our current cast of JAGS are, block occupiers. I watched and re-watched the LSU games and I just don't see enough from him to make me think he'll have an impact for us. He's tall and has long arms, which are qualities I normally love, but he doesn't seem to have an ounce of explosiveness.

ughh...no words if we draft him at 14.

Dbair what would be a shitty pick?

Drafting a QB in round one, a guy who plays OT only in round one, somebody vastly overdrafted (ex, someone rated in the 20's or 30's by basically everyone, and we pick them at 14), drafting a WR or RB in round one

I feel similar about Brockers and Poe. I think both are guys its hard to get excited about right now and we'd obviously have a long wait before seeing their impact on the field. But I do think both guys would improve the defense.

Barron can kinda cover.

He never really had to in college.

Played more of a deep LB than anything else. Best when the play is in front of him.

Out of the main players we or the experts are predicting for the Cowboys..Mark Barron is over a year older than Tyron Smith, DeCastro is about a year older, and Poe is 4 months older.

Fletcher Cox is 1 day younger and Brocker is 9 days younger.

Still amazed that Tyron is as good as he is as young as he is.

Regarding Mayock, that's the first time I've seen Barron projected higher than 14.

I love how the DeCastro lovers are still hanging onto the flimmest glimmer than he'll be our 1st round pick in their sig mocks.
