For the record, I'm not really sold on Kirkpatrick. I'd rather DeCastro or a pressure player. I'm just trying to sell myself on Kirkpatrick because I honestly believe we're definitely going corner at 14.

Upshaw > Kirkpatrick

Alabama is totally loaded with at least 4 2012 first rounders just on defense: Upshaw, Kirkpatrick, Hightower, Barron. They are also loading up on this years recruiting class. I wish Saban had been successful with the Dolphins and stayed there.

Upshaw should not be as athletic/quick as he is. He has offensive linemen sized legs.

Looking at the draft, the value in the middle of the first is at LB. There's about 4-5 I've seen projected between 10-20. Upshaw and Hightower are two to really look at if we decide to make a move to replace Spencer. Kuechly of BC is a bigtime ILB, but I think I'd prefer OL, LB or CB in the first.

Yeah, but I read the other day an analysis that said Hightower may be better suited for OLB in the NFL. Not sure if that's so or not, but I do like Upshaw better.

This would be the perfect 1st and 2nd round draft for us.


1st: David DeCastro, OG---Stanford

It was hard to watch last nights game and not be impressed with everyone on that Alabama defense. I love how physical Kirkpatrick is. Just wish he'd wrap up on some tackles instead of trying to make a highlight reel hit.

We have enough players on this team that do that shit. Pisses me ioff to no end. You end up on a highlight reel but not in a good way.
