When President Donald Trump slapped a fresh round of tariffs on European and Asian imports, the professional hand-wringers and legacy press clodpolls sprang into choreographed action. Headlines and television anchors blared warnings of trade wars,...
President Donald Trump's comments came after his aides sought to sooth market concerns by saying more than 50 nations had reached out about launching negotiations to lift the tariffs.
Of course John Roberts sided with the liberals who argued some nonsense about the lawfulness of terminating the federal grants. It is an astonishingly stupid argument. Imagine a ship hits an iceberg and a judge orders the captain not to plug the hole so that water continues to flood into the hull of the ship eventually sinking it.
I never believed the stories that Roberts has somehow been compromised or that the Dems have some really bad dirt on him, but after this ruling, where Roberts did not write his own dissenting opinion, I am starting to believe those stories are true. He needs to retire, but I am pretty sure if he is compromised his handlers won't let him.
I haven't looked at any of my 401k stuff for a month or two, told the wife over the weekend I am not going to look at it now until at least July 4th or maybe even Labor Day. I know it's gonna be ugly.
100% believe in what Trump and his team are doing though, at least my kid and potential grandkids will have a country now.

Tech stocks and banks are taking a beating. It may be time to buy but my tech stocks are down more than 50% since January. That's a hard number to swallow. I am trying to decide if I should throw more money at the market today. I do think all these stocks will recover eventually. They always do. Once the emotion dies down a bit the market will begin to pick up.
But, if this continues through the year, 2026 is going to be very hard on Republicans. If they lose the House and Senate majorities, or even just the house, Trump's presidency will be over. He will get nothing for any of his agenda policies.
One complaint I have about Trump's approach to tariffs is he has picked a fight with the entire world all at once. Maybe it would have been better if he singled out a few countries and made an example of them first. Maybe the market reaction might not have been so severe.

This is a repeat of COVID but with another cover sheet. Half of America was infected with the bird flue in 2008 (not sure of the year but it was under Obama/Biden). No one panicked and no one kept score until COVID hit and all the media, including Fox, had COVID trackers to count the infected on a daily basis. It was disgusting. And then they fudged the books (numbers) to make it seem worse than it is/was. That included the mortality rate that was inflated, all the while hiding the real numbers of those injured from the jab.
Same thing here. The markets tanked under both Obama and Biden. My 401k dipped 30% plus and I took a HUGE hit. No one gave a fuck (except me) but I knew enough to know that these things are going to happen and you just ride it out. But because Trump is in the Oval Office, we have to magnify something that we've seen before and rebrand it like it's something unique to Trump.
The only other alternative was to keep doing business as usual while the country is on the fast train to financial ruin and social security goes bankrupt and the only way to solve it, short term, would be huge tax increase further eroding the Middle Class. The Dems are just messaging and the shills are too stupid to look at things in context. Trump is trying to reform the government and the Deep State (who also control the media) is fighting back. If Musk had never bought Twitter we'd have no way of seeing both sides of the coin and the country would have been lost long ago.
And notice no one is wondering who was running the country during the Biden era even though books are coming out from insiders basically telling us the guy was mentally toast. That, to me anyway, is a huge story that is not being reported or honestly told. It's amazing how stupid many Americans are and they're so twisted in their ideology.
