who pays for and builds all these units?
The state has set aside funds for various planning and development activities. Our idiot governor is now bragging how NJ has approved more building permits for affordable housing than NY, not realizing how all this development is destroying the small town culture that made the state so appealing in the past. We used to be called the Garden State because of our farming. Now, we have no more farms in the Northern part of the states. It is all developed and much of it is covered with new housing developments.
And yet, to virtue signal to the world how liberal we are, the state legislature passes round after round of new housing mandates. As I said, my town has run out of space to develop housing. Yet was have been given a new mandate to build another 348 units. This is not a big town.
This is one reason why so many people are fleeing NJ for red states. Soon, all the wealthiest people will move out, along with businesses, and NJ will become like one big low income state.
