Quinn has close ties with Pete Carroll and their GM. I think unless he tells teams he doesn't want to leave again, he's going to get that gig if he wants it.

Yeah I've never understood why the league allows this. Make it fair for everyone involved (all the coaches being interviewed or needing new jobs elsewhere, plus the teams still in the playoffs those coaches work for) and just make a rule that says new coaches can't be interviewed or hired until the season is completely over (after the Super Bowl). If everyone starts the same day, I don't see how that wouldnt be the most fair and something that all teams and the league office should support.
Flat embarrassing …. No excuses. McCarthy will be fired and Our”Franchise QB” will get a record contract and Jerry will go to his grave without a championship and ridding himself of the ghost of Jimmy Johnson! Go Texans!

That said, if he were somehow cut prior to June 1 you're creating a huge 1 time cap hit, but then its done. You also save the 29 mils in salary he is scheduled to make.
Most likely he gets another yr here but I guess it depends on what they do ultimately with McCarthy and a new HC.
The Cowboys quarterback, who has a $59 million cap hit next season, is 2-5 in the postseason in his career.

For what it’s worth, Prescott gave McCarthy a vote of confidence.
“He’s been amazing,” Prescott said. “I don’t know [McCarthy’s future] can be [in doubt], but I understand the business. In that case, it should be about me as well, honestly. That guy, I’ve had the season I’ve had because of him. This team has had the success they’ve had because of him. I understand it’s about winning the Super Bowl, and that’s the standard of the league and damn sure should be the standard of this place. I get it, but add me to the list in that case.”
Well if one takes Jerry at his word (and more often than not, he actually tells the truth about stuff) then it seems like a foregone conclusion that McCarthy is going to get fired.
Last week after the really nice win in Washington to 1) win 12th game 2) win NFC East and 3) get #2 seed, Jerry told people after the game he didnt want to talk about coaching contract extensions until after he saw how the postseason played out. He was admitting the coaches fate was probably tied to postseason success.
The game was laughably uncompetitive. The team was uninspired and unprepared.
Then from the memory banks, Jerry was furious after they lost to SF after the 2021 season and by many accounts, had to be talked out of firing McCarthy after that game by Spawn.
The Packers took a big cap hit when they traded Rodgers and made the playoffs anyway. Of course, they also had a great draft whereas we whiffed completely.
