My decision would be influenced by what happened earlier in the game (how has the Dallas running game performed, how have both kickers performed, is this a high scoring game in which both teams have kicked around the defenses or have both offenses struggled, how many timeouts does Manning have, etc.).

Ignoring all of that and giving a simple, straightforward answer, I'd go for the 1st down.

A 50+ yard field goal isn't a sure thing and even if Bailey nails it, Manning is left with too much time .... especially if he has some timeouts.

Don't know what you habve been watching, but the left side of the OL, has been pretty good WHEN Leary was in there. And you're right. Witten certainly is no blocking TE.unce

If I called a run play, I wouldn't do it into the teeth of the defense. Toss sweep that mug and string them out. Or spread out the WRs and do a draw play.
