It's a shame. Because you could really see the difference in this team under Garrett with the way they fought back from 17-0 down.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. A win this season means nothing. It doesn't get us anywhere but lower in the draft order.

But son of a bitch if it wouldn't have been nice to close the deal today.

Still, big picture...this is a good day. We battled back against the defending Champs, who are playing as well as they have all season. With a backup QB.

We took a step forward. This wasn't the Giants overlooking us or playing the road challenged Lions.

The new head coach is showing nothing but good signs.

I agree, and Garret should get the interim tag dropped he definitely shows he can coach.

I was sort of pissed that he didn't go for that FG earlier, when he went for a 59 yarder to try and tie it to send it to OT.

He's not perfect, but he's a huge upgrade from Wade. Overall I am pleased with the way we are playing since he has taken over.

Yep, the arrow is pointing up for the first time since Parcells was running things.

With an offseason to assemble the coaching staff he wants, plus free agency and the draft to replace some guys who badly need to be replaced, I have no doubt we could be really good in 2012.

If Wade were coahcing this team today, we'd have lost 59-7 or something.

I assume you mean 2011.

Definitely. We can contend next year with the right changes.

I'm not ready to say definitely with Garrett, but it's looking like it. Either he keeps it up the last 5 games or we get an established coach in here who will in the offseason.

We still have a long way to go. 3/5ths of the O line needs replacing. The whole secondary it seems too.

No, because I want the current C, RG and RT replaced.

lol

But you're keeping one of those guys and filling the RG position.

Lets say you want two new faces on the line.

I want more. I'd like to see the entire line replaced within 2 years.

It's not realistic to think you can change more than 2 or 3 in one season. I realize that.

But we don't have to be a team without holes to contend next year. We're competing with the best teams in the NFC right now with some big holes on the roster. I bet we compete with one of the best AFC teams next week with those same holes.

There's no reason why this has to be a several year rebuilding process.

Yeah, me too.

I want this entire offensive line replaced, but if we keep Free then fine he needs to be moved to RT.

I say two years we can find the right pieces for a new line.

I was vert impressed with this game. Garrett made a couple questionable calls but he also put this team in position to win.

Not too many coaches make the call to kick that 59 yard fg, that was the right call despite the narrow miss, it would have been good from 55 and a straight kick would have been good from at least 64.

The only real question I would ask is why he didn't give Beeler the shot earlier in the game.

Garrett is the answer. Bring in Dom Capers as your assistant/DC, replace 4 or so starters on defense and 2 to 3 on the oline.

CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!

I tell ya what. IF Garrett is around as HC next season. And Jerry keeps just enough of himself out of the picture. I am down.

How is Jason Garrett as a team builder? While BP and Jimmuh shopped for groceries, I imagine Jerruh's gonna be making our draft day and free agency decisions.

Even if Jason Garrett's a good coach, having two more drafts like 2009 and we'll be perennial 4-12 teams.

How many drafts lately have been like 2009?

This years draft is looking pretty good. Most of the drafts since 2003 have been pretty good, with a couple of exceptions.

Nobody gets it right every yr with every pick.

Exactly right. That's why I'm conflicted on rooting for Garrett. If he doesn't cause Jerry Jones to step back some, it's not going to work. You can't win when an oil salesman is controlling the team like he is. With the son of an oil salesman as his right hand man.

Welcome to the real problem with this team all these years.
