Tell me about the great players we have.

Romo - undrafted. Pure luck. If it wasn't for Quincy getting busted for drugs in training camp, Romo would have been cut.
Austin - undrafted. Again, pure luck.
Dez Bryant - there is a reason he slipped in the 1st round of th draft. He was red flagged by a lot of teams.
Jason Witten - no way he should have fell to the 3rd round. Chalk another one up to luck.
Jay Ratliff - 7th rounder. Major luck.
Laurent Robinson - Cut twice this year, once by Chargers, once by us. Luck.

Tyron Smith was brilliant but the Cowboys (Hudson Houck) had early and unlimited access to him and saw what everyone else is seeing now.
DeMarcus Ware over Shawn Merriman was a very nice move. Taking Sean Lee in the 2nd despite the injury concerns was also a good move. The rest Terence Newman, Marcus Spears, Anthony Spencer, Bradie James are all major underachievers. Free agent signings, or lack there of, the 2009 draft, and the Roy Williams trade are all the main culprits on why we lack overall depth right now.

tbh Ware and Lee and co. were all luck because there's no way they should have slipped as far as they did for as good as they are.

Basically you can chalk all the success we have had with players up to luck.

Tom Brady - LUCK.
Peyton Manning - LUCK that the Colts had the first pick in the year he declared. Luck luck luck luck luck

What contacts were those? Parcells had nothing to do with finding either Austin or Romo. I believe it was John Garrett that was credited for finding Austin and Payton for Romo.

Not finding them. Austin, Hurd and the late, great Pat McQuistan were all on the roster bubble one year, I think it was '06, when Parcells called around and found out that all 3 would have been snatched up if the Cowboys cut them.

Jerrah might not be responsible for all the player moves here, but the depth-crushing trades like Galloway and Roy Williams have his name written all over them. In fact, the Roy Williams trade is one of the worst in NFL history, and likely the absolute worst in our franchise history. That trade alone would be a fireable offense for any GM.

Jerry's name is written all over free agency. Snyder, Jerrah, and Al Davis (pre-death) all have this propensity to go after shiny toys with no clear idea how to really build a team. The o-line and secondary have both been issues for years now. To top it off, he has implemented some worthless coaching staffs since Jimmy left. What's sad is that he knows exactly what he's doing. He admitted that he brought Parcells in to get the team on track and drum up support for the new stadium. He knows the difference between a Dave Campo and a Bill Parcells. He's just too proud and ego-driven to really allow a real coach to run this team.

Bob Kraft is probably the best owner in the league for this reason alone. He loves his team and is always in the spotlight, but he's smart enough to let Belichick do the football stuff. Look at how respected the man is. Fuck Jerrah.
