Best post in this thread and pretty much my thoughts.

Look, we lost to a rival on Monday night football. This shit happens. But it's like I said before, we weren't as bad as everyone made us out to be before the season and we're not as good as everyone is making us out to be now... Unfortunately the team bought into the hype and they went in there over confident. Played flat from the getgo, got punched in the mouth by the blitz and couldn't do shit to stop it.

The bad thing about this loss is that it comes right before we play the Cards. A top 3 team in the NFL. We could be looking at 6-3 and a two game losing streak real quick.

The good thing about this week.. The eagles also lost.

Yep, just like the Pats looking terrible in week 4 and the Bengals as well 2 weeks ago.

We didn't look inept last night, other than our approach to Haslett's blitz.

I was yelling for a onside kick at the start of overtime. First of all, no one's expecting it. If you get it then they lost their chance and it is now sudden death, we get ourselves in FG range, kick the FG and the game is over.

If we don't get it, we hold them to a FG like we did anyway. Then we get the ball on the ensuing kickoff.

The more you think about it, the more a onside kick makes sense in this situation.

Have some imagination, Redball.

Yes and no. That fumble hurt. But you give him a chance to redeem himself, and Garrett balked on that.
Looked to me like a case of overthinking the plumbing making it easier to stop up the drain. Tried to fool 'em, got fooled.

When you need to just line up and hit them in the mouth. Dance with what brung ya.

Im still convinced Jerry talked Jason into putting Romo back in the game

Weeden had 2 very successful drives.

I dont get it

My theory as well.

That's the only reason he needed to go down to the field.

It was more than that. Being outcoached had nothing to do with missing 5000 tackles or fumbling the ball twice.

Even with the missed tackles, if we had stuck with what got us to 6-1 we do not lose that game.

THANK YOU! With all the miscues we had, we still had a chance to win it either in regulation or OT.

Players' mistakes can be overcome throughout the course f the game; coaching... not so much.

I guess I would disagree, simply because teams that miss 5000 tackles and give up nearly 300 yds in a half to a 3rd string QB don't usually win.

That said, we didn't have the ball enough in the 2nd half. The Redskins had the ball almost 21 minutes of the 2nd half. (and that doesn't count the OT drive) The Redskins had the ball for 43 plays in the 2nd half and OT to go along with the nearly 300 yds. Conversely, we had only 28 total plays.

If we'd have had the ball more, we would have run more. They've done it all yr.

I get complaining about a couple of the play calls that probably should have been runs, but otherwise I think you and some others are making a mountain out of the mole hill.

Had we run more, we would have had the ball more, and subsequently kept them off the field more. That's been evident in 6 straight wins. Not sure why that is so hard to understand.

Yeah, time of possession isn't just on the defense, it's also on the offense to keep drives alive. We'd been the best 3rd down conversion offense in the league this year, and last night we just weren't. Part of that has been running the ball so great so that we're in a lot of third and shorts, or at least manageables.

3rd down efficiency was hovering around 59%, last night it was a respectable but way under-performing for this season, 41%.

As a dad, I completely understand. I stopped buying my kids Cowboys swag about two or three years ago. I'm not passing this fandom down to them. I can't get out, but I can prevent them from a future of frustration on Sundays.

I hear you Middy. I took my son to quite a few games, mostly in Philly but took a great road trip to New England a couple of years back. We haven't gone the past couple of years and the kid's been bugging me to take him but I just can't bring myself to give Jerry a small fortune on a road trip to Dallas or pay for his mediocre product.

We recently took my son out to dinner for his birthday and my wife asked him what he wanted as a present. She thought he's say an Apple computer since he's been talking about it for some time and the kid spits out that he wants to go see a Dallas game. There's that fucking guilt again. So I break down, look at our schedule and figure I can get a reasonably priced ticket to see them in Jacksonville since the Jags suck. So we made a plan to look at airfare and tickets until we realized the next day that the game was in London. There goes my plan to buy a cheap ticket. I'm still considering another game so we'll see.
