Sky still falling?

Were we exposed or was that just a bump in the road?

Personally I don't understand how or why Jason doesn't make any sort of adjustment last night. I mean, you have a dominant OL, a dominant RB, a dominant WR, a top of the line TE, and a well above average #2 WR..... yet the key to stopping this offense is to just show an all out blitz 95% of the time?

We have no answer for that?

Princeton education got nothing for that? All game?

Is it me or did Garrett's eyes look awfully watery after the Romo injury. Looked like he wanted to cry. And I'm sorry but the whole Jerry interview, immediately followed by the Romo injury, immediately followed by Jerry talking to Jason on the sideline was completely embarrassing yesterday. I hate the leadership on this team.

I was watching the game with my stepfather. He doesn't watch football at all but will sit down and watch if it's on. I think he just likes watching people beat the shit out of each other.

Doesn't know the players. Has probably heard of Peyton Manning but couldn't identify him in a lineup and certainly doesn't know he plays for Denver.

Doesn't know the penalties and gets confused when I switch between talk of Fantasy Football scoring and actual game scoring unannounced.

Dude doesn't know the game at all. Whatever. No big deal.

In-game interview (WTF? Has any owner ever done that?) comes on and I'm asking no one in particular why the owner would do that. Cracked a few jokes about Tirico's "you look so calm, Jerry" comment.

No shit, he looks calm. It's the 3rd quarter and there's an open bar in his suite. He probably won't even remember the interview tomorrow.

Stage has been set and he now knows this clown on TV they're talking to is the owner. Coach Jones goes down to the field and I shit you not,

"What is he doing? He shouldn't be down there."

He doesn't know the game, doesn't know players, and assuredly wouldn't have been able to recognize Jerry as the owner when he went to the sideline without having seen the interview just a few minutes before. He is about as detached from football as it gets but even he knows that owners have no business on the sideline.

Ugly loss, but somewhat predictable with our history.

Defense was just putrid in 2nd half. Team and coaches looked like they had never seen or heard of a blitz or how to play against it. Two awful fumbles. Worst tackling by far of the season.

Clearly appears owner meddled in major game decision that potentially flopped miserably by costing us the game.

I would like to hope they are just a young team that thought they could show up against a bad team with a journeymen 3rd string QB and win easily, but we will see over next two games. If they win both games, maybe that proves that's what this was.

Not using Murray to punch it in on the goal line but opting to pass cost us moreso.

Not calling Murray's number on 2nd and 2, and thereby sustain the drive cost us as much.

The most maddening thing is that Garrett is a former QB, and you wold tink that he would consider that if he was the QB, how he would beat the blitz?

When does common sense makes its presence known?

I'm still pissed and need to be at work this morning but it's too depressing having to listen to NY sports radio.

But the thing that pisses me off is what I've condemned my poor son to because I led him down the path to being a Dallas fan. We were watching the game last night and the kid says he's going to bed after Washington opened the second half. I thought it was kind of strange but it's a school night and maybe he's just not into the Cowboys as much as I thought he was. So the game goes into OT and we get pass happy on 2nd and 2 and lose the game. I hear the kid yelling at the TV and throwing shit in his room.

I've seen Landry, Roger, Jimmy, Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt, Dorsett, Randy White, etc. My poor son is destined to root for a team run by Jerry Jones and coached by Jason Garrett and it's all my fault. I've seen dynasties and Superbowls in my lifetime while my son will feel the pain of failure and mediocrity in a parity driven NFL. That fucking guilt is hard to live with.........

As a dad, I completely understand. I stopped buying my kids Cowboys swag about two or three years ago. I'm not passing this fandom down to them. I can't get out, but I can prevent them from a future of frustration on Sundays.

Shame that we will never get to see what Romo could and would achieve if he had a real coach.

Garrett's still gonna Garrett.

Jerry is going to get worse. It won't be long before we see him in the huddle, addressing the players during a timeout. He honestly believes his presence has an impact during games.

It definitely shows that one habit they’ve had for years hasn't gone away: playing down to their opponents level. It never fails. They can play up to a Seattle and a NO, but when they play a cellar dweller on their 3rd QB, it’s keystone cop time. Add in division rival and all bets are off. It’s like I said last week or so, I’m more doubtful against crappy division rivals than I am against non-divisional Super Bowl contenders. And Philly is actually good.

You have to hand it to Haslett though, and you have to shake your head at Ginger, or whomever controls these things, because there was just no adjustment. What loser coaching job for last night.

Thoroughly disgusted still this morning.

I can handle losing to a better team, but when you get beat the fuck up by a scrub team like that, there's no excuse for that. There's no hot route that can beat that casino blitz look?

Heard of screen passes? No?

5 YEARS AND COUNTING. Haslett has doing it. Got to the point yesterday that Haslett was blitzing on every down late in the game.

Given the pressure Romo was under I'm sure Zach Martin had his share of bad plays ... but I did enjoy seeing some of Martin's good plays highlighted during last night's telecast.

Garrett has always been notoriously slow to adjust, but I thought we'd finally gotten him away from the offense

I think the most troubling thing is that they went away from the run especially during key times.

35 rushes by backs against Seattle, 33 against NY, 23 last night. It wasn't like Washington was consistently stopping it

I figured, at some point, a defense would figure out how to slow the run. I wanted to see how they responded. However, they went pass happy for no real reason and, in doing so, exposed a weakness in the passing game.

Murray finished with 143 yards. No they weren't stopping it. Garrett stopped it. Stopped it on the goal line. Stopped it on 2nd and 2 after Murray ripped off 8 on first down.
