What, if any, expectations do you have for Jason Garrett these next 8 weeks?

What, if anything, can he do, or should he do, to give you confidence and give you faith in him being the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys, 2011 and beyond?

I think he'll be a shot in the arm and make this team more interesting to watch.

I expect him to really show what he can do as a HC. The players should play harder. I'm expecting maybe 1 or 2 more wins as opposed to 0 wins under Wade.

I totally expect more of the same with this team. Arm tackling, no hustle, no heart and laughing about it on the sidelines.

I expect to see the team respond positively to Garrett. I think you start to see the players come together as a whole team instead of separate parts. I'm guessing we'll go 4-4 the rest of the way.

Just good enough for Jerry to be able to sell Garrett next year and still have a yes man wearing the headset.

I hope we go something like 2-6 at best and Jerry has no other choice but to take a backseat to a new coach. Bill Cowher/Jon Gruden is the only option I see. Any other hire is more than likely business as usual.

Garrett is gonna coach his ass off so he can get the HC job.....Does that mean we will actually be better who knows. We couldn't have more of the same, that was just bad football and something needed to change to show jerry was Atleast trying....

I don't have any expectations. I'm just going to watch and see what happens. Winning games is meaningless, I'll be more interested to see how the players react on and off the field.

I can't believe how many people think that all of a sudden bad players are going to turn into good players.

Garrett can "coach his ass off" all he wants. He still has a giant collection of shat along the offensive line that will get manhandled routinely on Sundays. He still has players that are lazy and content and have quit on their team. He doesn't have a real defensive coordinator.

To me, this isn't even an opportunity for Garrett.

No, it's not even half an opportunity. This is lose lose even if Garrett somehow wills these players somewhat useful.

Just give Jerry half an ounce of hope and he'll think he turned these players' careers around.

This is possibly the worst situation Jason Garrett could have walked into. Damned either way. He'll be unfairly judged one way or the other. If he somehow earns the job going forward he's still F'd.

What a raw deal.

I dont believe they are gonna do anything different(players), I am just saying Garrett wants that Head coaching position like all assistants do. Hes gonna try his damn best to get IMO-That said I dont think its gonna amount to anything....

He made a mistake not taking the Falcons or Ravens gig.

He could have gotten away from Jerry Jones and had a real chance. Both front offices are excellent.

Being head coach of the Dallas Cowboys shouldn't mean anything to him anymore. This isn't Landry's Cowboys. These are Jerry's Cowboys.

I think he was trying his damn best the first 8 games. Trying to get the offense scoring points.

There's only so much you can do when you don't even have one blocker worth a shat.

The thing is, they arnt all bad players. Some are (Davis, Ball, Olshansky, Sensabaugh). Some are past ther prime (Colombo, Brooking) Some are try hard guys without much upside.

But there are alot of good players here. Not having Romo is a big handicap, along with what I think is a fairly weak staff.

I expect him to not let this team quit and to compete. That is all and if he can't it will easy to let him go in the offseason and REALLY make a change in culture here at Club Med Ranch.

I think they have no mental toughness. How else do you explain folding up the tent the last two games?

They have some good players. All teams have some good players. But they also have more than their fair share of bad players and overrated players.

Sorry. This doesn't get fixed in season. If Garrett's your guy, then you have to give him an offseason, more like two, to really put his thumbprint on this team. He's set up to fail the rest of this year.

Today's move should be followed by a few outright releases of some established veterans. And a few demotions to 2nd string.

I'd announce this minute that Jason Witten is no longer the starting TE and that Marion Barber and Leonard Davis are no longer with the team.

That's fine. But that isn't exactly giving Garrett a fair shot.

True, I'm just hoping he works out.
He's young, smart and players aren't in love with him.
He's also stand offish, he's cerebral and most of these idiots won't feel secure around him.
The last thing any of them need to feel is secure.
