There is concern internally that coach Jason Garrett and his entire coaching staff will be fired unless the Dallas Cowboys win the NFC East and reach the playoffs

I think that's a stupid way of determining whether to keep a coach or not, especially considering the ridiculous number of injuries on defense.

If Garrett is fired, it should be for a myriad of reasons that became apparent over the last three and a half years not just whether they make the playoffs or not.

Of course I'm trying to use reason and logic and apply it to that donkey of a GM, so I guess I'm the idiot

How many of you guys will support this team next year if Garrett comes back? I took a big step back this year and found that not giving a shit if the Cowboys win or not was quite easy after these last few years of this circus. I will always be a fan of the team , but it is hard when I dislike the GM, HC , Asst. coaches and some of the players. In other words, I would like a complete blow-up. How long will the faithful fans remain if Garrett is the puppet in charge? I will not continue to support failure.

If they somehow get in and win a playoff game, I don't see how Garrett gets fired.

If they win next week and get smoked round 1, and he keeps his job, there's no way I watch a game next year. Not until he's fired.

My hope is, Romo throws 4tds, no picks, then Garrett finds a way to coach his team to a baffling loss next week.

That way the mush heads don't have a reason to pin everything on Romo, and Garrett still gets fired.

Perfect, full proof scenario.

The real coach ain't changing', Jerry Jones is firmly entrenched until he's 6 feet under so I still say bring Garrett back

Have the Dallas players ever heard of a 'players only meeting'? I'd be trying to clean up this mess internally between themselves and have nothing to do with the coaches but executing their assignments.

I'd either going to make a real, legit effort to find another team or become the most rabid Dallas hater you've ever seen.

And I'm fully prepared for it. This ginger loser has more lives than a cat.

Thought about this a lot. I purposely lighten my school load during football so I can still enjoy(ha!) USC games on Saturdays and Cowboy games on Sundays. I also got to assist the staff at the local junior college during games so I can really envision a scenario where I no longer tune in to watch a Jason Garrett-led Cowboys team. It is just too frustrating now.

At least I used to enjoy battling the homers every week but Almighty Hos went into hiding and dbair is pure garbage. If Garrett returns, no Sunday Ticket, no new gear, and not going to any Cowboy games next year.

Still not convinced this saves Garrett. If we play good and lose maybe it does, but if we get run off the field and don't even look competitive then I still think he cans Red

Jones: Garrett not coaching for job

By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

With the Dallas Cowboys playing for a playoff berth on Sunday in their game against the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium, owner/general manager Jerry Jones left no doubt about coach Jason Garrett's job status.

Jones said Garrett isn't coaching for his job and any reports saying otherwise are inaccurate.

"That's not right, that's just not correct," Jones said on his radio show on 105.3 FM The Fan Dallas-Fort Worth on Tuesday morning. "I've addressed that three to four weeks ago and he is not and that's all you need to say about it.

"I have said the last couple of games I don't want to talk about it because it looks like, because someone else needs an answer, it is a point of consideration and I've said it earlier. I did it purposely several weeks back that certainly in terms of looking at the future. His future is bright in my eyes with the Cowboys."

Garrett enters the Eagles game with a 24-23 overall record in three NFL seasons. He's yet to reach the postseason, losing games in the regular season finales in 2011 and 2012.

Jones, however, likes Garrett's abilities to manage a team, especially with how he's handled the numerous injuries. The Cowboys, according to a source, will be without quarterback Tony Romo due to a herniated disk, although the team refuses to rule him out for the game.

Garrett has been criticized for a lack of consistency in his game-management skills and for an inability to push his team to a division title or wild-card berth. But Sunday, a victory would give the Cowboys their first NFC East title since 2009.

"You don't have anybody that doesn't have flaws," Jones said. "Once you accept that, and there could be several flaws but the positives if you go forward, the positives outweigh those."
