Thats how I felt after we passed on Stephen Jackson in 2004.

Think I remember there being some story where Parcells told him he wanted him to be a Cowboy but we felt he'd go in the top 10 or something. He was the one guy I wanted in the draft.

Spent all day watching in disbelief as he kept sliding. We got on the clock and he was still available and I was way too fucking ecstatic for a grown man watching a sports team draft a player.

Then we traded down.....

What

The

Fuck

:/

OH MAN, THAT WAS A PAINFUL DRAFT TO WATCH...

Hiring Jason Garrett has to be in his bottom 5.

Campo did more with WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY less. Way fucking less.

And worse, Campo seemed bent on fixing was wasn't working instead of ignorantly maintaining that the fault of his lack of success is that the players aren't being excellent all the time.

When there's a Switzer, Gailey, Campo and Wade to also consider, Garrett doesnt seems so bad IMO

Looking back...hell yes. Its amazing that Campo got us to five wins with some of those shit stacked teams. Garrett may be the worst coach in franchise history.

Not sure what some of you are remembering with Campo. He was absolutely horrendous as a game day coach and game planner as HC.

The Coslet thing was also a fucking joke.

I remember one game where Campo didn't go for 2 at the end of a game and we lost by 1. Anyone remember that?

Every single coach you just listed, every single one can coach circles around Jason Garrett.

That is both sad, and funny. Wade and Gailey are shitty head coaches, but I'd take either over the worthless piece of shit we have now.

I can't believe I made it through the Campo years so easily, but the Garrett era is what did me in.

I guess it's because Campo had a fucked cap, shitty players, and no hope.

Garrett has done shit with what really is a great situation compared to what Dave Campo went through.

Know Your Dallas Cowboys

America's Team Trivialities

Written on October 3, 2009 at 10:20 am by Matt Cordon

Recent Dallas-Denver Games Haven't Been Kind to the Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have faced the Denver Broncos ten times in franchise history, dating back to 1973. The Cowboys won the first game on December 2, 1973 and have won four other games since then. Each of the other four wins game during Super Bowl seasons, including Super Bowl XII itself.

The last time the Cowboys beat the Broncos was 1995. Denver was led by second-year head coach Wade Phillips, who brought to Irving what was supposed to be one of the stronger teams in the AFC. Despite John Elway’s two touchdown passes to Anthony Miller (a future Cowboy), the Broncos trailed nearly the entire game in a 31-21 Dallas win.

Three years later, it was the Broncos who were Super Bowl bound, having come off their 1997 championship. Dallas was trying to rebound from a 6-10 season in 1997 with a new head coach in Chan Gailey. The Cowboys traveled to Denver and were manhandled, giving up 35 first-half points in a 42-23 loss to Denver. The Broncos knocked Troy Aikman out of the game with a broken collarbone, leaving the Cowboys to rely on backup Jason Garrett.

And three years after that, the Cowboys hosted Denver on Thanksgiving Day. After falling behind 26-3, the Cowboys roared back, closing the gap to 26-24. When Dallas scored in the fourth quarter on a Reggie Swinton punt return to close the gap to 26-16, Dallas coach Dave Campo opted to kick the extra point instead of going for two. A two-point conversion would have put Dallas behind by eight instead of nine, giving the Cowboys a chance to tie with another touchdown and two-point conversion. By settling for the field goal, Dallas needed two scores. Campo was criticized after the loss for conservative play-calling, but by that point, very little was going well for the Dallas franchise.

It didn't happen, Jon.

Maybe if it was like 5-7minutes left in the game, Dallas scores, kicks the extra point, then relies on the defense to get a stop.

That would only be a WTF moment if there was like 2 minutes left or something.

There's the game. I was off on the score, but he should have gone for 2 probably.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, Jonny boy.

I do remember that and IIRC it was sort of close to the end of the game but not so late that trying to make it an 8-point game was a total no-brainer.

But even if it was, by that point in that season I don't think many people gave a shit anymore anyway.

The question that begs to be answered, though, is did you have to go to the store shopping with your wife to buy said turkey?
