Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware, minus the arm brace he used at the Super Bowl to help in the healing of a shoulder surgery, was a guest on NBC Sports Network on Friday.

Ware said he tried to recruit then-free agent defensive end Osi Umenyiora to sign with the Cowboys, Umenyiora ended up with the Atlanta Falcons, praised the work of former defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, now with the New Orleans Saints, and more importantly said the Cowboys will be better.

"We will not be .500," Ware said. "We will not be .500 like the last two years we’ve been, I can tell you that."

The Cowboys finished the last two seasons at 8-8 and have missed the postseason for three consecutive seasons. Like most veterans on the Cowboys, Ware is tired of being sick and tired of not making the playoffs.

You can blame several people for the lack of recent playoff appearances by the Cowboys, but Ware stopped short of blaming quarterback Tony Romo, who just signed the richest contract in franchise history.

"I think the blame goes on everybody," Ware said. "It's a team sport and everybody has to play up to their potential."

"We will not be 8-8"? Considering that they have added just a couple of scrubs to the roster, they may be lucky to see 8-8. It could be more of a 6-10 season. The rookies that are drafted will not have that big of an impact their first year and I don't consider a player like Allen as a player that will win extra games for them.

He didn't say we'd improve. Just said we wouldn't be 8-8.

Maybe he thinks we'll go 7-9....

We can find a way to win 9 games to improve this season but I'm sure we'll find a way to fuck it up. There's not much confidence in this team.

I caught that. I as making the same assumption that the author of the article made in that Ware is thinking a better record.

If we go 8-8 again or below I will love to see how Jerry handles it.

I expect if Jerry doesn't win a SB in the next decade we will possibly see a pathetic broken down man pass the team to his son.

There very little room for him to maneuver. He's got his new stadium, his franchise QB and a respected coaching staff. I think Ware should use his quote on Jerry.

I'd give it two years of below .500 and a half empty stadium and he's stepping down.

Nah, way too huge of an ego.

It will be health issues that trigger the move.

At this point in his life he has set it up so he is the Dallas Cowboys.

He has worked to make the impression that if you say the words Dallas Cowboys his name and face is not far off in your mind.

Maybe someone will assassinate him.

A bomb disguised as a microphone or camera would do it. We just need to get someone willing to hold it.

I get the feeling the stadium will be a lot less empty this year. I know I have No real desire to attend any games except the Thanksgiving game. I go to that out of tradition.

There is nothing positive to discuss, so we dal with the reality of the situation. In other words, we are fed up, and this year I see more fans than ever that is feeling this way. Positive post doesn't help the situation, and negative post doesn't hurt it. I really think that this year or next will start a decline that will put us with teams much like the teams of the Campo years.

It's April. David is shaking off the winter doldrums and getting his homer legs under him again. Happens every year.
