Updated.
He needs 1.5 sacks a game to break the record.
It's out of reach, IMO.
He can throw up a 2 or 3 sack game though and be right in there for it, just depends on how teams try to block him.
He'd have the record if he didn't have a bum like Spencer playing opposite of him.
I say Ware ends up with 16.5 sacks.
Thank you, Anthony Spencer.
POS.
I think he'll get more than that. 6 games to go and he already has 14. I cant imagine him not getting at least another 4 or 5 unless he gets hurt.
Yeah, very disappointing year for him.
Mike Jenkins really rebounded with a good year before he got hurt, but Spencer has continued to be the picture of mediocre.
But in truth, I am glad that we are seeing this out of Spencer. It will make it all the more easier to let him walk. I would have hated it if he had a monster year in his contract year---typical of player in that situation, and then we kept him and signed him to a big contract, and then he mails it in.

Okay, since the single season sack record (barring a miracle) is out of reach, I'm hopeful Ware can at least get 20 sacks for the year and lead the league in the process. 6 sacks in 5 games is reasonable, IMO.
How many does Allen have?
Allen has 13.5
If Ware gets 6 more (20 for the year) that will also give him 100 for his career. He has 94 right now in case you don't have a calculator handy.
Did I hear correctly during the broadcast last night that Ware is the only guy in NFL history to have three 15 sack seasons?
Players like Reggie White, Bruce Smith, and others haven't done that? :confused
