This isn't to say this is the norm. It's not. He's had some good moments and some bad. It's just that the bad has been swept under the rug when pretending he's a pro bowler in waiting.

I'm not tooting the "Doug Free is a Pro Bowler" horn, but he's been a decent player so far.

One also has to take into consideration the competition he's faced over three games. There are no "Marcellus Wiley's" there. I can see any LT needing a little help with Mario Williams. I don't think that's unrealistic.

I think I will give him the year and make a real judgement then. 3.5 games at LT doesn't tell me shit about a player.

Agree.

The guy is playing well. He's gone up against monster pass rushers, and more than held his own. He played exceptionally well at RT last year also.

There are a lot of people on the team who warrant criticism. I fail to see why Free would.

Play 1 - Felix run, no help.
Play 2 - Pass to Roy, no help.
Play 3 - Pass to Roy, beaten like a rented mule. A complete whiff that could have gotten the QB killed if he didn't step up and slide right in the pocket.
Play 4 - Pass to Witten, help from Bennett. Probably because he got beaten so badly the play before.
Play 5 - Pass to Bryant, no help.
Play 6 - Pass to Barber, help from Gronkowski chipping.
Play 7 - Pass to Roy, no help.
Play 8 - Pass to Austin, help from Choice.
Play 9 - Barber TD run, no help.

9 play drive. Maybe two of those plays I would call quality. A few had the action rolled to the right and away from Free, so he was a non factor. He got help 3 times and completely whiffed once.

He's been okay. Mediocre. Dime a dozen. Whogivesashat.

What he hasn't been and what he never will be is Pro Bowl worthy.

Cowboys fans have been beaten down for so long with these home grown offensive line bums over the years that the first one who just doesn't suck is suddenly worthy of league recognition at the end of the year.

I don't buy it. And neither does anyone outside of the organization watching him play.

3.) His whiff had been acknowledged.
4.) We were running a double-TE set you idiot. The TE is going to help no matter what. If it had been Bennett going out on a pass, then Witten would have stayed home on the other side and helped Colombo. Or Witten could have been moved to the other side, and still went out for the pass and Colombo would have stayed home.

6.) ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS? Or just beyond stupid? Gronkowski didn't help Free on that play, in fact, he purposely whiffed because he immediately went out into the flats for a possible FB pass/screen. Gronkowski was by no means supposed to engage Williams and he didn't. That's not a chip. That pass/checkdown could have gone to Gronkowski just as well as it went to Barber

You are too stupid to differentiate between an actual play or even a route being ran by a player and that of them providing help, as you put it.

8.) ARE YOU FUCKING BLIND? Choice didn't help Free out on that play. Choice hits the blitzing LB, Free removes his guy totally out of the picture, and Mario Williams had switched sides and is on Colombo, who whiffed like Free did on few plays back. GO BACK AND LOOK.

So basically out of 57 offensive plays ran, you bring up a 9 play video snapshot that shows Free whiffing on one play, and getting help on ONE PLAY (out of the double-TE set)---like I said before, and he's a bum according to you.

He got help on three plays and whiffed once. This is obvious to anyone who isn't a complete fucking idiot.

Now this is a short sample size. But I think it's reflective of his play.

He's just a guy.

BTW, somebody tell that assclown Lulk Logan that a "chip" is when a back or TE throws a block before going out on a pass route.

The level of stupidity on this board makes it hard to take it seriously. We have guys who don't even understand the basic rules and terminology of the game.

He's not "just a guy."

A JAG doesn't go against Orakpo, Peppers, and Williams in back to back to back weeks, and not give up a single sack.

No one is claiming he's Jonathan Ogden here. But the guy is clearly better than you're giving him credit for.

The level of stupidity you display in many of your posts makes it hard for anyone to take you serious.

Perfect match, eh?

No he did not. He whiffed ONCE. And got help ONCE.

How was he fgetting help when Choice was engaged with the blitzing LB, and Free had his own man?

Gronkowski did not help Free whatsoever.

I know what a chip block is. I played the game, unlike you. Gronkowski didn't even scrape Williams. In fact, all he did was make it look like he was going to help, and then he ditched to his route.

Level of stupidity... coming from the guy that thinks Parcells was a better Cowboys' coach than Landry and Johnson. It doesn't get anymore stupid than that.

Come from the fool who thinks Choice helped Free on a block even though Choice was fully engaged with a bltizing LB.

The first and the last guy ended up switching sides during the course of the game because of lack of success against Free.

The video speaks for itself. Don't take my word for it or the opinion of a moron. It's right there to see. 1 whiff, 3 assists on 9 plays.

It sucks when fantasy land is exposed like this. I can imagine.

Anybody who watches that drive and thinks Free is playing well doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. They're merely defending their team. That's mediocre JAG play from that position.

Oh, here's another absolute fact. The Texans always, al and ways, move Mario Williams around. Just like we've started moving Ware around. See, that's one of those things homers can take, spin it, and then attempt to make something appear that isn't there. Like Free's stellar play. That's an illusion. Game tape is fact.

This drive shows you how he's really doing. And no amount of complete idiocy from this trifecta of morons we've got going on here will change it.

He's a JAG. The league knows him as a JAG. Only in Cowboys land is he worth a shat.

Bullshit. Show where Choice helped Free on a block. Gronkowski didn't help Free, he brushed pass the guy and headed out for his route. You provided the footaghe and you cannot even grasp it. LOL!!!

Well, if that isn't pot calling the kettle black. LOL

Tell ya what SBK, Maybe you would be happier if Dallas brought Randy Thomas in to play G., and have Tucker at RT or LT, Petitti at the other. Would that be better?

And to top it all off, Dallas have THE GREATEST DE IN THE NFCE AND THE NFL , Trent Cole, LOL, to help them out at practice and shit.

With Clint Stoerner throwing the rock. Oh hell yea, one can dream.

Free is playing good at that position and he will continue to improve,as much as it will piss you off, but, he will. na na .

The play where sbk is trying to say Gronoski helped is at the 2:24 mark of the video. If that's a chip block . . . it's the weakest chip block I've ever seen in my life.

This is the play where Choice "helped" Free, according to sbk.

choiceblock1.png

Notice the defense is in a 3-4 alignment, heavy on the offenses left hand side.

choice2.png

Immediately as the ball is snapped, Witten takes the blitzing OLB, Free and Kosier collapse on the DE. You can see the two inside linebackers coming in to blitz, which Choice comes up to help protect.

choice3.png

In this image, you can see where Choice and Free combine to block the blitzing inside linebacker, which as you can see, Free is peeling off to pick up the 2nd blitzing inside linebacker.

And this . . . is why you can't take sbk or his opinions serious.

That and the fact he doesn't have a fucking clue as to what he is yapping about. I think he does it for attention, seriously.

And those photos clearly show Choice helping out Free.

Which is exactly what I said.

So about half of those plays in that 9 play scoring drive, your pro bowl worthy LT either had help or whiffed entirely.

Whoa. Where's that ballot? I got to get my vote on.
