Apparently DOGE is now interested in performing an audit of it because there are strong suspicions that it's either ALL gone, or most of it's gone.

Senator Mike Lee just posted he has tried several times to visit Ft Knox now and they have refused him every time. At first they said "we're a military installation" to which him and his people said "I'm a US Senator and visit military installations all the time". They then responded "you still cannot come here"

I am not sure Ft. Knox is the largest depository of gold in the US anymore. I thought it was the Federal Reserve building in Manhattan. That Bruce Willis movie was no Hollywood myth. There actually is a massive gold vault underneath that building. I had the opportunity to visit it once working on a joint project. I did not see the gold vault but the people I worked with there talked about it.

In any case, if the gold is missing I suspect it was sold off or used to pay some debts or something. But it would be nice to know what we have left.

I seem to recall reading something a long time ago that the gold at Ft Knox was moved and the vaults are empty there. It is being used more as a decoy now that an secure storage facility. But who knows.
