I'm leaning "true" since his contract is almost untradeable. It's weird to say we're "stuck" with a good player, and God knows we need a good backup whoever it is, but that may be the case.

I'm on the fence, might depend on if somebody gets stupid and makes a call offering the moon for him. Then they might get creative with his contract and try to do something so they could trade him.

also, unless Tony plays this year, the team trading for him will have no proof that he can still play without getting hurt by conventional tackles. if we ship him, don't expect anything close to the Sam Bradford haul.

If Romo is healthy and wants out, someone will trade for him.

He will have to pass a physical regardless so that won't be an issue. Trading NFL contracts is easy as well, not really an issue.

Seems like managements style is to hedge their bets.

They're gonna need a backup (unless they're comfortable with K Moore or Sanchez), so unless they get a great offer for Romo, I'd say he'll be back

True. Jerry and Jason are not in the business of fielding a competitive team. They just want everyone to have a good experience.

Dak, Zeke, Linehan and the defense want to play though.

That might be true, but can we make the cap hit work? That's the question.

From what I remember his cap hit is higher with him on the team. If he's cut or traded his cap hit is like $5 mil cheaper than it is with him on the team. So even though the cap hit is huge they'd still be saving money.

Tony is coming back to play this season. He will get his job back. If he plays anywhere in the future it will be in Dallas.

If they release him without getting compensation, I will fucking freak. ditto McFadden. either use him or trade him.

Speaking of trading McFadden. Packers just traded with KC for Kniles Davis. You mean to tell me we couldn't have sent them McFadden for a late pick?

I think the packers need somebody immediately. DM isn't ready yet. Somebody will be calling for him soon though. I say trade him and Lance Dunbar to pickup some draft picks.

Time to give the rookie Jackson some time in Lance place

If he retired next spring, the money we owe him for the next three years doesn't count against the cap, right?

After Fitzpatrick's meltdown last night the Jets might be interested sooner rather than later. Gino Smith isn't the answer.

With Big Ben out they may want to pay to play this season. Wouldn't that suck to have Romo go to the enemy only to meet him in the SB. Then watch as he carves up our defense in a shootout with Dak

It seems like every season there is one or two big name QB's that go down for an extended period. That's all we need to have happen to create the perfect storm of another team being willing enough to pay for Romo.

See the Cowboys 2015 season as an example. Sure we picked up Matt Cassel. But if there was a Romo like QB available we would have overpaid for him. Especially after a successful 2014 and Jerry thinking we "are on the verge of winning it all"

The salaries don't, but I don't think we can get out of guaranteed money that's owed.

I possibly see Jerry hanging onto McFadden to also play in the return game.

What are y'all thoughts on what Jerry made do?
