Aikman must be confused. Romo sucks. I know because I've read it on this board.

Hate to disagree with ya, Aikman, but its got nothing to do with expectations in relation to you or Roger. Romo's not doing it on purpose but for all intents and purposes he treats our hopes like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown. You were a winner, Troy. So was Roger. Tony may have the skills but he doesn't have the heart or the guts to tread in your footsteps.

Aikman is to Staubach as Romo is to White.

Although, I believe Romo is better than Danny White was, but not by much. Danny did take us to three consecutive NFC Championship games. Romo has but one playoff victory. That could storm a big debate.

If Romo doesn't bobble the FG against Seattle the book on him completely changes. We go into Chicago and win but lose in the NFC title game to the Saints. Romo is clutch instead of choke for subbing in and taking the Cowboys to two playoff wins. Parcells comes back for one more year and we don't have to suffer through Wade.

Damn you, Tony.

I almost think having to suffer through Wade would've been better than having to put up with Parcells any longer.

Parcells was done. Even before the Seattle game.

Seems you calmed down since earlier in the week.

Very much so...

That fumble just irked me. I love the guy. I can live with mistakes they all make them, that was a Eli manning ish mistake though And really irritated me.. That swung the momentum.

Can't wait till Sunday.

If I had to choose between those two it would be Parcells all day long. Wade was a horrible head coach and didn't know how to prepare a team for a game let alone a playoff game.

I do blame Parcells for the conservative play calling though. He was way too conservative.

Awesome.

The # 2 QB is ALWAYS the best friend of fans.

When not playing and the #1 is stunk up the joint in one game this season.

Parcells was a horrible game day coach.

He was a washed up relic in Dallas.

At the end Parcells could sill gameplan with the best of them. He just couldn't make halftime adjustments for crap. Go back and check the amount of times we were winning or were in the game in the 1st half and then lost in the 2nd half. Teams adjusted to what were were doing, we didn't.

I know it's only one game, but If Romo doesn't get his shit straightened out soon, I'd start Kitna in a heartbeat over him.

Sorry, but I don't buy the whole Romo hasn't had enough time to prove himself, he's had nothing but time. It still blows my mind that he's making these dumb mistakes. I want Romo as our starter but c'mon....

This is exactly why we shoulda got rid of Kitna and brought in another back up QB. We don't need any QB controversies on this team started by fans or the media.

Romo is the QB for this team... he's the least of our concerns.

The days of Carter, Leaf, Hutchinson, Henson, etc. are still fresh in my mind... Back then fans would kill for a QB like Romo.

I don't think we'd even have to bring anyone else to get rid of Kitna. There's a lot of teams out there that have #2's far worse than Stephen McGee.

Wrong. Tony Romo's career can be summed up in one word: Loser.

Great - GREAT - fantasy football QB . He fills up the stat sheet, no doubt. But the bigger the moment - last minute of close games....especially big games...playoff games...he's one of those guys who will finds ways to lose. It's who he is.

Nothin against the guy - he just doesn't measure up to the great Cowboy QB's of the past...

Thats your problem, along with other fans, STOP comparing him to our great QBs of the past. The greats like Staubachs and Aikmans don't come around that often.

BTW, doesn't Romo's win-loss record look something like 39W-23L? Yea.. Loser. Right.

Is what happens Romo's fault? A lot of times yes. He tries for a lot of plays he shouldn't. Sometimes it works and it's amazing. Other times it doesn't and we have discussions like this.
But sometimes he's just a guy doing his job. In the situation against the Jets where he fumbled by the goal line, I'm willing to bet quite a few well respected NFL quarterbacks would have tried the exact same thing Romo did in that exact same instance. And if they had fumbled after getting hit like Romo did, well, most don't have the "reputation" that he does, so not much would have been said. I've heard quite a few talking heads complain that it was a unnecessary play since Dallas didn't have to have a touchdown there. True, but if that is the arguement why didn't Garrett call another running play and take the risk out of Romo's hands?
Bottom line, he does the best he can with what he has in front of him. Does he drive me nuts sometimes? Yes, to the point that I want to pound the ground, throw the remote and pull my hair out (and there's not much to yank there). But he's our quarterback, and a damn good one compared to what some other teams have. Given where we'd be without him, I'll take my chances with Romo, craziness and all.
