Whose responsibility is it to keep those dads around? Mine? Yours? No, it's an individual choice, and it ain't about color.

You Guys seem to channel your fruatration for the media onto trayvon.

Yea the media could talk more about all the shootings in Chicago or how the minority family structure is breaking down, but that doesn't mean trayvon should be dead. He stood his ground against a man chasing him down in a neighborhood that had a lot of crimes. Like the rest of us would.

Trayvon died bc the color of his skin.

And you wonder why racism still exists? Because of stupidity like this.

Trayvon Martin died because he got physical with the wrong person. Not because the color of his skin. If he had continued on home, he's alive today. 4 minutes of time are documented where Zimmerman lost sight of him. Why didn't he go home? Because he was a tough guy who wanted to beat somebody he figured needed it for following him. Unfortunately for him, that guy was armed.

Racism exists because people still talk about it like it's keeping them down.

That's a fact.

What is sad is that what qualifies as "racism awareness" should be more of what was in the video.

Wait a second.

Nevermind!

That wasn't relevant to my interests!

Since I feel I am unfairly oppressed what the frick is an Uncle Tom like Freeman going to do for me?

But that doesn't make it right to stereotype. Trayvon died bc the color of his skin. And you can see where this can be frustrating to those people.

People stereotype all the time.

Psst...we are hardwired that way.

The only way you overcome racism is through education.

And that doesn't mean rehashing the past.

It means living in the right here, right now.

If I challenge a motorist who appears to have used a handicapped parking spot illegally, does he have the right to beat my brains in just because I initiated the encounter? Even if I'm mistaken about his actions, I don't see where he has the right to be physically violent. If Zim pulled the gun out before Martin began wailing on him, that'd be a different matter entirely, but there's no reliable evidence supporting that.
I said I think he initiated the deadly confrontation. You "challenging" a motorist for parking illegally isn't starting a deadly confrontation.

It only turned deadly because Martin turned violent. Zim was merely shadowing him until the police arrived. And it goes without saying that people with violent intentions don't phone the police and ask for assistance.

Of course you would.

He is an Uncle Tom.

I don't understand what you're saying.

He is saying there should be no Black History Month nor a White History Month. He is absolutely correct.

He is the opposite of an Uncle Tom.

You are agreeing with Uncle Tom.

Therefore, since he has that status, what he says is irrelevant.

Morgan Freeman has never been oppressed!

He was the token black guy on Electric Company who learned how to play the game.

I disagree. I believe Trayvon punched Zimmerman because he was fearful for his life due to Zimmerman's actions.

That's the problem. The prosecutors had suspicions, not evidence. Like Bob's sexual orientation, I guess we'll never know.

We're just talking about personal opinions here... not the trial per se.

But the prosecutors did a shit job of trying to disprove self-defense. You gotta have more than just trying to call the defense a liar and saying "I wish Trayvon could tell his side." That doesn't get you past the burden of proof.
