Babe Laufenberg :facepalm, Dallas Cowboys radio color analyst and former NFL quarterback, analyzes the Cowboys win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Donavan McNabb thinks the Cowboys should trade Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. What do you think of that idea?

What I think is that Donovan McNabb must not realize there is a salary cap. Additionally, it would be idiotic to trade Dez Bryant. And at 36-years-old and coming off multiple major injuries, Tony Romo would have very limited trade value. The next question might as well be if I think Roger Staubach is coming out of retirement.

Is the debate over between Romo and Dak Prescott?

In my mind, yes. I don't see how you make any other decision. I feel bad for Tony, because he has played some really good football for this organization and was saddled with some very average teams. But he is 36 and the clock is hitting midnight for Tony with the unexpected emergence of Dak Prescott. And at 5-1, just playing .500 football the rest of the season will most likely land the Cowboys in the playoffs. That experience for Prescott will be invaluable. I can give you a myriad of reasons for continuing with Prescott. Can't think of many for turning it back to Romo. But wow, what a luxury to have a guy like Romo to turn to if anything were to happen to Prescott.

What has impressed you most about Dak on and off the field?

What hasn't impressed me? Does the right things on the field, says the right things off it. Like any young quarterback, or any young player for that matter, there are areas where he will improve. He is clearly doing the things necessary to win. He is smart, a team player, dedicated and talented. As well as he has played, he is going to continue to get better game by game.

What do you think of the play calling right now from Scott Linehan?

The one thing I have learned over the years is the better players you have, the better play caller you become. But I will say, he has been pretty aggressive. The two third-and-one calls to Lucky Whitehead were genius -- first the reverse that jump-started a 97-yard drive, then the play action pass for 35 yards that led to the touchdown that put Dallas up 27-9 and pretty much sealed the win.

Could this year's draft go down as one of the best in Cowboys history?

We are probably a long way from answering that question, or even being able to ask it. But finding your QB is a great start. Hard to top the class of 1964 that saw three Hall Of Famers come out of it-- Mel Renfro, Bob Hayes, and Roger Staubach.

Completely hypothetical, but would you guys make this trade:

Tony Romo (QB) & Dez Bryant (WR) to the Jets for Leonard Williams (DT), Brandon Marshall (WR),and a 2017 #1.

So fast your head would spin. Lets not forget that pick looks like top 10.

Shit, I don't see how they could pass this up, especially when you add in NY's #1 pick which is looking like it will be real high

B Marshals salary is 5mill less than Dez, Leonards is basically nothing and Dallas will have two #1's to grab a young receiver (to replace B marshall in 2018?, he's 32)and another piece for the defense

I would do that in a heartbeat as well. Dez style of play is going to be cause for concern for a while ie Calvin Johnson. The stats don't favor Dez in this age of his career and also he isn't the best at route running still to this day.

Brandon would be a nice pickup for now and the 1st round pick would be nice to spend on a defensive player. Hell double up on that pick if it is high enough and grab two defensive studs at Linebacker and Corner

The decision making of Dallas is starting to look very similar to the Seattle Seahawks in drafting great talent and non overspending to retain their own free agents. I love the direction of Dallas now

Linehan is doing some good work. It has been a pleasure to watch this offense so far this season. Linehan has been very creative.

I don't know how he did it, but Linehan has somehow managed to help Dak Prescott bloom in no time at all (really, in no time at all), which is truly remarkable. This kind of thing, Prescott's emergence, rarely happens anywhere. So Linehan deserves a lot of credit on that count alone. Then consider the running game and how one of the best ever young OLs in the history of the NFL (that's probably a true statement) is being exploited fully by a truly gifted rookie RB. This is football that is fun to watch.

Honestly, this offense reminds me of the Landry days. Linehan's offense is a smart offense. And in it you can see the guidance of a smart coach who calls a game strategically. That's the way it was with Landry (and with Parcells, in a different way). This is the most interesting offense that we've seen in Dallas for at least 20 years, and you could argue 40.

So say what you will about coaching in Dallas, things are turning around with the Cowboys and it isn't farfetched to think that the coaches have something to do with this.

I agree. The 3 and 2 play with Lucky taking the carry was very creative. I never expected that. This offense is becoming unpredictable. Best thing Garret has done to keep his job was giving up play calling duties.

I'd hate to trade Dez, but that's a pretty get haul. Marshall isn't Dez but he's a decent quality player until replacement comes in. Williams would dominate in this scheme I think. Getting the extra 1st is gravy but potentially nets us another cornerstone player.

Cant see the Jets being this desperate for a QB though.

You have to consider the "New York" factor. This is a team that competes with the Giants for headlines. Bringing Romo and Dez, two NFL stars, would be a big move in that city and Bowles will be trying to save his job. Losing Williams can be offset by keeping Wilkerson and Richardson.

wouldn't have much fear of the jets getting to the super bowl either since NE always wins that division and makes it a tough road to hoe for the rest of the division, seems like a perfect place to trade them in this regard

I feel like it would break Dez's heart, I wonder how he would respond

His management company would entice him it would be great for business. It would help out his endorsement deals tremendously. Him and ODB competing for the New York market
